peaceman99 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) Hello everybody =) I've been playing the game without any problems for about 3 weeks now, and yesterday when I started the game, everything was running just a bit faster than normal. Restarting the game and the PC didn't help. all animations, effects, etc... run a bit faster than they should normally do (about 1.5 times faster). It's not unplayable but incredibly annoying and it kills the whole atmosphere that makes the game great! I'm sure i didn't change anything significant on my PC, since i played the game just an hour before, and everything was normal...I've already tried reinstalling the game but i didn't help. I'm playing the game on an Acer Notebook, Processor is Intel Core 2 Duo T58004 GB RamNVIDIA GeForce 9600M GTEdit OS is Windows Vista 32bit Do you have any suggestions how to fix this, or has anyone encountered the same problem? I hope you can help me with this, since the game is pretty much ruined for me right now =( Tanks in advance! Edited December 20, 2011 by peaceman99
peaceman99 Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 I think so.... I've read that it's 'on' on default and i didn't change it. where can you check that? i can't find it in the settings.
Lius Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) Your computer is too good and its overkilling Skyrim. You need to install every HD texture mod out there, turn up everything to max, overclock everything to compensate for the overkill. If all fails, i highly suggest you downgrade back to windows 2000 and remove your GPU from your computer. c: Joke, obviously. And its not Berialord, this issue has been an ongoing issue since fallout 3 i believe. Sorry about the joke trolling ;3 But to disable V-sync, go into your .ini file and add iPresentInterval=0 at the bottem of the [Display] section. Edited December 20, 2011 by Lius
peaceman99 Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 Beriallord: Why should this be a troll topic?? o.O My game doesn't work apparently... :D @Lius: checked it, it's turned on. what now?
maboru Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 If you play with Steam online then you got the new LAA patch today so that probably reset your inis. Start the game from the Skyrim launcher or TESV.exe and see if that helps. If not try one of the frame limiter mods and see if that helps.
csgators Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I had this happen one time but loading a save before the glitch fixed it and it never happened again. It happened to me very early on my first play through and I have no idea why it happened.
peaceman99 Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 csgators I tried to load an older savegame... didn't help, i encountered the same problem. I have the feeling it's not only ingame, but also the loadingscreen-animation (smoke, rotating objects) the smoke animation in the main menu, and sub-menus pop up faster. So it's actually the whole game that is running faster. maboru The patch didn't change anything. also, I've never changed anything in the .ini's so i don't think that's the problem. Gonna try the frame-limiting mods tomorrow. thx
maboru Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Actually the patch tuned the game for 4gb (as opposed to just making it large address aware) so if you have the old 4gb mod you need to delete everything it installed in your game directory for the game to work correctly now. Though to be honest I don't see how that could affect the problem you're having. Have you run Fraps to check your FPS?
