mykulfrost Posted November 9, 2016 Share Posted November 9, 2016 I play a semi heavily modded game of FO4 withe the f4se. I run about 130 mods atm. With the recent update and the f4se being down is it safe to play without it right now? I do have mods which depend on the f4se and i know they wont work but will playing without it right now cause a conflict with saves after it updates? I know its kind of a noob question for a kind of a old guy but asking is the only way im gonna find out. :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
damanding Posted November 9, 2016 Share Posted November 9, 2016 Unfortunately it pretty much depends on each individual mod and what it bakes into your save game. If you're paranoid about keeping a usable save game it's probably best not to, but if you don't mind a little risk and are willing to start a new save game if things go to hell go for it. Personally I'm of the opinion that if you're going to use mods *at all* you need to learn to not be overly attached to a particular save game because sooner or later a mod will come along that breaks one. I install/uninstall mods constantly and have always lucked out without breaking a save game to the point of being unusable by doing so but I also have no problems starting over again if I did. The save game I'm currently on is technically broken by a mod but there are things I can do to work around the bugs so I haven't bothered to start a new one. But if I'd had to start over I totally would. I think I'm actually on my 4th save game anyway. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

JimmyRJump Posted November 9, 2016 Share Posted November 9, 2016 I've ran the same load with and without the script extender active. Never had a problem. Must add that the only mods I run that need f4se are one to take screenshots with the hud not showing and Place Anywhere. Neither mod has an influence on the outlook of the game but only add or delete functionalities, so mine is not a good example of how the saves are influenced since there's none at all in my case...
