camdoz
It is my favorite part of the process. You spend a week working on a setup you like, and it works and looks great. Then NMM takes a dump all over you and you have to re-download everything and reinstall, reconfigure... But the best part is when your game doesn't work on that reinstall. The best thing is when you had the same setup as before and it worked and now it isn't. But really, the best part, is the guess and check. The guess and check man. GOD I love it. You get to spend hours uninstalling, logging in, logging out, reinstalling, all in vain, and it's so much fun. I find it to be much more fun than playing the nice setup I had before NMM stopped opening and had to be uninstalled and reinstalled. I really really really really think the insanely tedious and suicide inducing guess and check is the best part of this whole thing.

Shubal
I feel your pain and smiled at your sarcastic calmness. If you are new at this it can drive you crazy and when your save is screwed and you have no idea why, it can test your soul. But if you follow the natural course of things and understand where mistakes can come from (usually from missing an important piece of information) you will find it harder and harder to screw your save. Good luck and read the sh*t out of stuff.
GarglingGlass
I've never really had NMM take a dump and me and have to do things all over again...
wizardmirth
My SE/NMM experience has been pretty solid across the board including for Fallout 4. I wonder what mostly problem complaints come down to? Not carefully reading the install instructions for every mod?
Fantafaust
I've had issues adding huge numbers of mods back when I first started. But while it was kind of tedious, figuring out what was causing issues was actually kind of fun. :P

Nocturnal36
wizardmirthMy SE/NMM experience has been pretty solid across the board including for Fallout 4. I wonder what mostly problem complaints come down to? Not carefully reading the install instructions for every mod? Probably a combination of this and not understanding load orders. My big mistake when I first started modding back on release was downloading a bunch of mods that I thought looked good while only glancing over the mod page checking for incompatibilities, this lead to a lot of load order issues and missed compatibility patches. I think people just get trigger happy with their download button and don't pay attention. Edited November 16, 2016 by Gobby13
wizardmirth
We've probably all been there to some extent or another. Oblivion was where I had the most problems but it was my first time modding and that game is nowhere near as stable as SE even on its best day. Always a good rule of thumb, especially for older games like Oblivion, never install more than a few mods at a time! This way if you have problems you'll only need to check a few mods rather than a ton!
