2D World Map

I was wandering if it's currently possible, or will be possible when the Creation Kit is released, to change the in game's map to 2D rather than 3D. I get severe input lag on this screen, sometimes I'd rather walk to places than fast travel because I don't want to fiddle around with the map screen trying to get my pointer to go where I want it. My graphics card holds up well throughout normal game play, but for some reason this screen just lags the hell out of my mouse input.

Oh yes, Oh yes PLEASE someone make this! I HATE the 3D map! In all the years of Skyrim development and all the beta testing, did NOBODY ever bring up the point that the 3D map was useless, confusing, ugly, and pointless? The map in Oblivion was so very, very nice... You could see the roads, you could see the regions, you could tell what you were looking at. Now it is just a garbled, incoherent mess. Bethesda is the best game developer in the world, but you can always count on them to make buggy games with bad interfaces, and make a few absolutely RETARDED design choices and then never fix them.

I'm ok with the 3D part for the most part (unwieldy as it is) but I cannot for the life of me figure out why there's no roads visible on it. It's a map, not an atlas... It's supposed to facilitate getting here to there, as it is now all it does is show me what the world looks like from really far up in the sky.

And it it HAS to be 3D, why can't it at least be useful?

Yeah, at one point I had to resort to opening up my physical map in real life, and plotting where to go on the road, because the 3D map sucks balls. And those clouds are just effing stupid. Luckily there's a line of code to remove the clouds, but why were they there in the first place?? Skyrim has the worst map I've ever seen in a game.

absolutely YES! For old fashion old parchment map like in middle ages. That one what was used on English ships with a wind rose compass. Like a scroll. that will be much more useful for the player and add more filling of a real adventure traveling in RPG game.

Also the UI have to be more fantasy and ancient style. on old parchment with dragons in a corners. this one now is more apropriate for some "SF deep space" game.

I do this too, terrible you have to resort to it huh

Cool, looks like many people want this, and for different reasons, I think it's worth doin.

Well, with the way bethesda determines game featues; this mod will be made, its going to get an insane amount of downloads, TESVI will have 2d map... lol

what would be really cool is a regular paper map which you could EDIT yourself in-game using... a feather and inkwell ? as well as a journal that allowed for sketches as well as text to be added...

Super immersion, I support. and you could have spots removed after you've cleared them xD... have to be seperate from the stock standard 2d map as not many people will love this one. but I would :D
