gday. i have read the threads here for a while on backward flying dragons, the 4g ram mod being destroyed and so on.

i just read somewhere that the latest official patch allows more than 2g of ram to be used?

is it safe to allow steam to update now?

Honestly? No. The 1.3 patch doesn't actually fix anything over the 1.1 patch. 1.3s entire existence was to fix what 1.2 broke. If you're still running 1.1, don't bother. You can if you want, but some people have been reporting stuttering and frame rate issues with the 1.3 patch. I say, if its not broken, don't fix it.

Honestly, until they start coming out with patches that actually start fixing broken quests and improving the general game play, I'm sticking with the "unpatched" 1.1 so I don't have to deal with Steam's bulls***.

I am currently patched up to date, and having few problems that didn't exist in the base game already as bugs. The choice to update is yours, but avoiding the current patch build does deny you one rather useful thing: SKSE with the recent performance plugin, as well as SkyUI, which is starting to make up for the garbage base UI.

1.3 seems to run great, and you no longer need the 4gb launcher.

Some people with the stuttering/low FPS problem have found that checking Skyrim to run as administrator fixed it.

I think it's about time for the 1.1 people to remove their tinfoil hats and patch. Keep a backup, though, just in case...

Back it up and patch it up.

To patch 1.3 I have avoided anything game-breaking. No corrupt saves and only one encounter with a dragon acting like he'd just raided Honningbrew.

Admittedly, I was cautious. Backed up stuff and I have avoided some of the bigger, more hazardous mods because of previous experience with Oblivion & co. I also kept everything possible up-to-date, such as LAA patches and SKSE, which has without a doubt saved me some headache.

Then I let the magic blue smoke out of my PSU and got caught up on some reading. :wallbash:
