Havoc10K
So first of all I would like to say I'm not criticizing or ranting. I am grateful for ENBs or crafting fixes and CBBE and all that stuff, there are many enhancements in the game thanks to the modding community.I am thankful for all this. But I constantly think that a lot of stuff is missing from the modding community simply based on how much stuff Skyrim had in the short time since modding tools became available. And in the same amount of time all we get are re-textures, stand-alone mods for armours which are great btw, but there's so much stuff that could use a lot of love. I like how people point out that this is post apocalypse and are trying to be lore friendly. But you know what ?Being lore friendly is actually holding back the modding community. Misconception of Lore Friendly means mods have to look like they have been pissed on for 260 years. No, Lore friendly means lore fits in. There's so much that can be done and there are assets for it.Many modders released clean or clean-ish items. just because it's been nearly 300 years since the nukes doesn't mean everything has to look deteriorated, rusted or simply crumbling down. I seen a lot of "HEY! this is post apocalypse ! You can't REBUILD!" Uhm, no ? The first thing a normal person after a war would think about is, rebuild.Especially a Vault Dweller. I've seen a lot of low endorsed or shunned mods around for Sanctuary or other settlements that reek of crumbling down looks. But even more missed the mods that would allow a complete rebuild of the settlements. I don't actually see anyone trying to do it. It would also be lore friendly cuz after nearly 300 years, someone ought to say, "Hey, it's been a while, we have tools, we have cement, concrete, steel, aluminum and we can make generators to power stuff up, we CAN and should rebuild by now, so why no one actually did it ?" So yeah, after over 200 years, why no one actually started a rebuilding process ? Bethesda logic ? Please someone explain this to me. A mod to process this could have a very simple variable to it. A settlement like Sanctuary could have more improvements to the environment the more time and settlers come in.I'm also wondering why the 20 settlers limit though (+Companions if you send them to one place all the time). The logic is failing in here so much and everyone seems to be fine with it. I dare say, it's time to change this game. Get to it modders. P.S. True Nights+Storms are the best ENBs, now I actually need light in this game, thanks so much for these mods.
HipsterTerminator2
The Creation Kit is free to all and you are more than welcome to pick up a copy yourself if you find the mod output lacking.
Havoc10K
I know it's free but I'm no modder. If I had the skills to use it I would already.
EmissaryOfWind
If you don't have the skills then learn them, no one here was born able to make 3D models or script. It's easy to say you're disappointed, harder to actually do something about it.

Havoc10K
I believe it had to be said, I am grateful for all the work done already, but it looks like the modders are actually not in the mood. Here's hoping for new interesting mods from modders for X-Mass. World is full of sayers. It's doers we lack.At least I said what we lack. I actually might get interested in doing some modding next year when I have more time on my hands. Lisnpuppy
Well golly gee, I can totally see why you would be disappointed since you seem to have a long list of "requirements" https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5065700-i-require-mods-that-do-thiese-things/ Some DLCs solved my problem by adding these things but I can't buy further DLCs to check if they have these things or not. DLCs I have:ContraptionsVault-tec Don't have the rest so I probably miss out on a few things. What I would like to have: -Electric lock door (Contraptions gave me the rolling garage door, but I would like a working button instead of a workaround with contraptions tech to make it work like I want it to)-Doors to work with computer terminals-Wall mounted terminals (plenty of them in the commonwealth, yet none in the mods)-Actually working Warhamemr 40K Space Marines Power Armor and normal armor (Normal Armor can be based on Scouts and Librarians as they don't wear Power Armors)Skyrim has a bunch of working ones, I'm completely and utterly disappointed that after so much time FO4 doesn't yet have it with working Bolters to that. and Seeing how Melee weaponry works in FO4 you can safely make Thunder Hammers as well or Power Axes and Swords. And even Power Fists, which amuses me how over 200 years later Power Fists in FO4 look so shitty compared to FO1/2/3/NV.-Minigun Turret, cuz you know you want some.-Wall mounted Turrets-Ceiling Mounted TurretsIf there are mods about this I'm unable to find them on Nexus. And I'm not gonna butcher my time with Steam Workshop, 70% mods there have so bad english text on them they look like made by 10 year olds for the lulz.-NV Anti Material Rifle. My very favourite weapon of crazy deaths, please someone give it to me (No, the chinese anti tank weapon mod is crap)-Working Brahmin Fodder. Now a little bit more difficult mod list:-Over Time Settlement improvement.Explaining:-Over the course of time in the commonwealth NOTHING changes in settlements, people live like drones, although in some places when you put up a scav station some settlers will try to "fix" some s***, but truth be told, nothing really happens. What needs to change is for some settlements to actually FIX stuff as settlers come in and more jobs can be placed. In Sanctuary for instance I am wondering why the buildings don't actually get cleaner and fixed, it's not like they aren't fixed at all, you can see patches done to some walls and stuff, but the buildings should actually GET fixed, roofs over time should be completely replaced, this can be done with a mod, and will likely require a reload of teh area after a while. This can be solved with giving a miniquest or a BUY THIS UPGRADE option where you have to provide a bunch of materials to make it work actually, since it was possible in Skyrim, it's possible here too, same engine after all, and has much less limitations, and compared to Skyrim SE it's actually really possible.-Contraptions gave one of the best idea for building, using conduits. Conduits don't actually use much space, and are more or less nicer to the eye in terms or spreading the circuitry over the buildings, rooms and even entire areas (Believe me, my Sanctuary runs on nice looking energy system that has NO hanging wires potentially killing anyone by hanging them unaware) problem is none of the modders actually take advantage of that, when you could easily make equipment run on being plugged directly by a conduit. it saddens me actually that Bethesda didn't use the idea as well, since their machines need to be WIRED to work instead of run on conduits, which would make snapping so much easier for all those machines.-I appreciate all the work done by many modders to make NEW settlements, but they look like there was more brahmin s*** on them than after the bomb fell. No offence intended, I'm grateful, but I would like an option where I can do something from zero. Hell I would like to have a workshop with just a snappable wall and a fair amount of space so I can go crazy and do something.-Basement doors with a workshop so I can do s*** in there.Remember when some modders made craft-able basement doors ? you could make your own cave, and in there, you could make another cave, and another ?I want something like that, in a form of door, that I would put somepalce and I would transit to a new room, with a workshop in there to design the room to my sick schism.-I'm planning on buying Automatron soon, but I fear the robots will look worse than Sanctuary buildings, it would be nice to have a variety of robots to look like in mint condition. That's it for now.If I think of anotehr torture I'll let you guys know  Cheers :smile:Hope to see some of that soon.
FrankFamily
Modders made what they like, if you dont like what is done then make your own, simple as that. And you are saying what you THINK we lack, pretty different.

If I had the skills to use it I would already.no 1 wo started with modding had much skils(or no skill at all), you get skils by doing and or trying out things, modding is blood/sweat and tearsyou wana make changes to the game, start reading guides and or watch videos, you can make/write down xxx things you wana see changed, no 1 is prolly going to do it for youso start learning, or accept the game as it is, or just don't play it
