reveffect
Alright I have been having a problem where I can not get rid of quest items for quests I have already completed. It really just doesn't make any sense. Why would I still need something like the ES which weighs 20 pounds after I have used it because there is no use for it afterwards. I also hate the fact that I am picking up all of these quest related weapons and items and the game won't even give me the quest that they are related to so I am running around the game world trying to find the person who needs it so I can clear inventory space. So does anyone have a solution for the first problem (the second one can be solved itself since I just need to find the quest giver to get rid of them)? Elsarian
A lot of these things occurred in previous games as well, and they were never addressed. So, I bet that Bethesda won't be doing anything about it. Just wait for a mod to be released that will allow you to remove quest items from your inventory. That is what I had to do back in Oblivion. It's pretty much all you can do, really.

BrknSoul
On PC: player.removeitem <ItemID> <Count> eg;player.removeitem 000cc846 1 This will remove 1 Amulet of Talos from your inventory. To get the ItemID simply do a search on www.uesp.net or use the command; help "name of item" 0 eg;help "amulet of talos" 0 This will give you everything that matches that item's name, scroll by using Page Up/Page Down Edited December 25, 2011 by BrknSoul

You just reminded me of those amulets. What are they used for? I have never encountered someone in the game that wanted the PC to retrieve them or anything. Handofbane
There is a one-off quest in Solitude that requires one, but of course is bugged so if you have any others on you, they all become flagged as quest items. Talk to the kid from the execution, from there you will be asked to recover a specific Amulet of Talos which happens to be identical to regular ones except for the quest item flag. Ah, thanks for the response. What is that kids name again? I have seen the execution many times, but was to distracted to really talk to him, or think that there was anything important that the kid had to say.
