Azrael0610
normally you don't have to reinstall the game, you have the esm file backup somewhereC:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SSEEdit Backups So you just have to rename the esm file and copy/paste it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data Just be careful about which one you take, but the date of backup is displayed in the name of the file. DrEllert
Azrael0610 you are a great benefactor to this forum! That's a good thing to know. Now when I think about it, I did edit my ITM files myself. I will check it again myself and update. Also found this on SSEEdit page:
umanfly
I finally got in to Falkreath to see the Yarl . My game kept crashing when i would get about to the edge of his Longhouse . So i started the Sherlock Holmes thing...suspect items being SMIM , and Floral Overhaul were the primary suspects that lay between me and the door. Then i had my character disrobe of any weapon mods , went in in underwear . Got to the edge of the house ...same thing... crash . Ok , reainstalled game , cleaned update , and DLCS . Tried again..... same thing ... got to the edge of his longhouse ( CDT ). Then i remember noticing that when i cleaned the update there was alot of red . So i verified the integrity of the game cashe , That meant my game was dirty ...no update cleaned , no DLC cleaned Then with all my ( 200 ) mods installed , without SMIM and Floral Overhaul , and being naked . I played the game with Dirty DLCs and Update . To My surprise .... My Character , walked right up to the Yarls House ...went in and finished the Quest . So what is the issue in Falkreath ?. Is it meshes , textures , or the update ?
jonnyboi1992
UPDATE Feb 2, 2017 I think the Falkreath CTD has something to do with the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch. When I go to Steam to verify any missing files, it recovers them and fixes the CTD only now I have naked guards and dirty mod edits. When I went back to clean them I get a CTD again. The Unofficial patches were the dirty edits being affected and I THINK the guards (and some other NPCs) are just a side effect of a recent mod I've installed, which I want to say it's the Reoutfitted Guards and Soldiers mod plus the ESP patch for the Windsong Immersive Characters Overhaul. I use LOOT to sort everything because I'm too lazy and afraid to change anything that might break the game. Arthmoor
The Falkreath CTD was fixed in 4.0.5. You either need to update or you have something else in your load order that is causing it.
w1ixi
Its a solid freeze still at falkreath tower. No freezes elsewhere. New playtgrough. I removed flora overhaul and the mod that added a companion at top of tower

You either need to update or you have something else in your load order that is causing it.Can you elaborate a little, please? Version 4.0.5 of which mod? I'm having the same Falkreath CTD these folks are, and also any time I get near Arcwind Point.
Arthmoor
Version 4.0.5 of the unofficial patch for SSE. That particular one was some bizarre side effect of an edit to guard placement in Falkreath that resolved itself when we removed those edits. Arcwind Point is not an issue with the mod, so if you're getting both of these things still happening, you've got something else that's made changes the game is being disagreeable about. Ratsel13
Weeeeeellllllll how about just running USSEP by itself on a brand new (not overwritten) save. I did, went straight to Falkreath (walked, ran, horseback, fast traveled, carriage) ZERO CTD. Just like with all my mods including cuttingroom floor. degooch93
This is a bit old now but I'll go ahead and confirm that it does have to do with the ITM records, as I just ran into and resolved that problem myself. If anyone else sees this, remember that it's not necessary to reinstall the game completely. Just verify the integrity of the game cache for SSE on Steam and it will replace all of the ITM files. Honestly not sure if cleaning is necessary with SSE, I'm running 100+ mods and didn't encounter any CTD's until I cleaned the esms. Oh well, hopefully this helps someone!
