Mods keep popping out of order

I have to be a complete noob here. I was attempting to finish porting something from Standard and every time I load up SSE, my mods pop out of order like a jumping prom date in a strapless dress. I have to keep manually popping them back in. What am I being dumb about, how can I fix this?

Mods I have right now:

(SSE+All DLC's)

USSEEP

SMIM

Book Covers

WICO

Immersive Citizens

Inigo

Immersive Armours

Apachii Hairs

I have no idea why this is an issue but apparently I have to extract string data from a few BSAs. No big deal but I do want to take a moment and say I am peeved with Bethesda for dropping the ball and releasing an update with so many issues. The way they have handled mods is rather obnoxious. But in other news, everything is fine and no big deal. Carry on.

This happened to me for ages - drove me mad. I assume you use NMM? Have you installed LOOT to manage your load order? If not, get LOOT and use it from inside NMM to sort your mods. After LOOT has done it and you close it, also close NMM and open it again - that seems to make sure the mods stay in place.

I would also add Wrye Bash (Standalone version) and run that after doing the above to create a "Bashed Patch". This patch will help your mods work together. Be wared though, Wrye Bash can have a little habit of rearranging mods sometimes...

I'm not sure why it happens.

By the way - any old skyrim BSAs will not work with the new SE. The BSAs need to be unpacked and the stuff installed as "loose files".

Aye, I have LOOT and Wrye. I made Wrye lock them in order. LOOT actually put some of my mods in the wrong order so I have been using Wrye to keep them locked down. I have had to manually extract the strings from the Bethesda BSA's. None of my BSA's are out of date. Thanks for the help :)
