SmokinAceHigh
I recently download a copy skyrim from stream. I purchased the original not the special edition. When I press play nothing happens. The game does not launch. I set the launcher to run as administrator but that did not work. I fixing skyrim with skse but that did not work. I do not have any mods setup or on my computer. I checked the data files and everything was okay there. I check to see if any background process could be the problem but that was not an issue either. I have combed through online videos and posts and found nothing that worked. Could someone please help me. Shadeybladey
The Obvious first, you have a Steam Account, you are connected to the internet and you launched Steam in on-line mode to verify the licence, patch it etc?
Kroekr
Did you install Steam in program files folder or somewhere else? Program Files folder will cause a UAC nightmare but it is the default folder. Go figure.
SmokinAceHigh
Do have an account, I have lunched it in online mode, as for patching it I do not know how to do that. Everything is up to date so a patch might be unnecessary. I followed the steam support as instructions as well, it did not help. I verified the game cache to validate the steam files and got a msg that said 1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired. I installed skyrim under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim. Steam was installed under program files. Would reinstalling steam to another location help solve the problem. Kroekr
uninstall it then reinstall somewhere besides program files. I have a directory called games I shoved everything into. The 1 file that failed to validate is your video settings. Will happen every time you validate after running TESV once. It is expected.
SmokinAceHigh
I re-installed it in C:\Games\ and I set the launcher to run as administrator. I also reset my computer. The problem has now changed. Now when I click play I get an "TESV.exe-Application Error" message. The message says "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)." SmokinAceHigh
Launching it from steam did not help. I installed the latest Microsoft visual c redistributable, net framwork 4.6, and use a program called aio(All in one) runtimes. Doing all this solved the 0xc000007b error. Thank you for your help. Your advice was useful.
