Why Bethesda, Why

Why the Bethesda Why, a company with such experience in this genre, has released a game with so many mistakes.

After playing Morrowind, and Oblivion I was looking forward to the launch of skyrim waiting for a game without any problems but since I started playing I found myself locked in various quests broken; problems with the dialog Esbern; problems with quest items that after complet the quest, continuos in your inventory; problems with quests like " no one escape from cidhna mine "; problems with Daedric quests that never show up; problems with quests that was given in one Inn and after you complet the quest and talk with the Jarl the quest don't disapear from your journal.

Why Bethesda Why, with so many restrictions, and security partnership with steam, its a shame, I'm very disappointed.

then came the official patch 1.2, 1.3.07 and 1.3.10 and I thought that now everything would be solved, but NO. Now there's a lot of interface problems and we need to fix that with mods or patch with original interface.

I never expected having to resort to forums and sites so often to solve problems in a game that promised to be one of the best ever.

that I should not talk about nonsense, that is we can't use a weapon underwater, and how we suppose to combat a slaughterfish; and why became a Magick character if we can't create spells. and why we can't cast a spell with a twohanded weapon; and why we can't cast a spell without having to be with a weapon in his hand.

Why such a great game made by a company with such experience was launched with so many problems.

Exept that all this, is undoubtedly an excellent game, and I love to play it, but after played a hundreds of Oblivion mods I'm tired of having to resort of console commands to advance in quests.

I hope the new year bring a final patch to resolve these problems once and for all.

As I don't own the game at this time, and hence cannot address your criticisms directly - Steam no likey dial-up - I can tell you that this is not the way to go about it. A quick glance at your profile tells me you've been here long enough to know that this sort of post is little more than ranting / flame bait; and as such, has no place here.

The Nexus Staff are a hard-working bunch of folks who do their best to keep order and give us all a nice, clean place to meet in support of our favorite CRPGs. And thus take a rather dim view of this kind of thing.

People have been banned for less - let's not get anyone else, ourselves included, added to the list, shall we?

I wonder.. why do people always look at the negative sides of something? Skyrim was released a little too early, I agree. However, the game itself is awesome!

Sure, I only managed to get in 150 houres into it, but that is more than 90% of newer games gives me. Heck, it's only Oblivion and Skyrim that have managed to give me 100+ houres, but don't let me power game without breaking the game.

That said, Morrowind had tons of bugs at release, Oblivion had tons of bugs at release, Daggerfall got tons of bugs now ( I know, it's old. I still play it!) and Arena is so old it needs to be a bugfest to be called a game.

Skyrim is no different. They build a world using a not-optimal engine, and they make it good.

Look at Dragon Age:2 for isntance. Every dungeon is reused and the whole game is in 1 city + a few other places. Then look at Skyrim: The reused content is at least planned out so it isn't too obvious the first 40 houre. The game also host good animations, dragons -- albeit too weak dragons.

I hope the new year bring a final patch to resolve these problems once and for all.

It brings us the CK. Then we got as much power over tha game as we want.

Did you play vanilla oblivion ?

At least in skyrim you don't fall in the void each 200 meters .

Just wait for more patches , deal with it .

A lot of people stoped skyrim just after the end of the main quest and are waiting 1 year when mods like tytanis will make the game 10 time better .

Yes I've played vanilla Oblivion and yes before the patch 1.2.0416 there were plenty of errors but after that vanilla oblivion runs fine.

I was not expecting was or was no longer accustomed to this kind of problems. I know this kind of open game that no one knows what you will do or where you are going is to be difficult to build without errors.

Off course I deal with it, I just finished the entire game, 143 quests completed; 18 main quests, 30 side quests, 9 companion, 18 college, 23 thieve's, 24 darkbrotherhood, 9 civil, 16 daedric, 5 quest lines, 238 Misc 0bjectives, 344 locations discovery, 410 days passed.

And yes, off course I will waiting for the mods that will make this game better for sure.

It's not slagging, is just a disappointment.

That's certainly last years all time low and a living (or dying) example of how dumbing down a franchise works.

Skyrim in its vanilla state is rather good. Also stabilitywise. Oblivion had much more issues when it first came out.

It has however the same problems its predecessors had: Choices have no consequences. That's nothing new with Elder Scroll games and if it wasn't for the Fallout series, one should have expected it. But with these two developed/published by Bethesda, one could at least hope that things might turn out differently.

If you read my post, you see that I'm not complaining about Nexus. I love this site. My observations is only directed to Bethesda.

Bethesda is a big Company with a lot of experience with this kind of games and my disappointed is only for them.

The game playability and updates with Steam is seamless, their partnership with Steam is really helped 'Us' (the consumers) a lot*. Also Steam hasn't hampered the game in any way at all...

As compared to some of the titles I have known.
