Once the stage and actor trupe is set up, there could be a downloadable "plays" for it relesed every once in a while. Extends the idea of (reading) books in oblivion.

 

Every city worth its salt should have one, with posters and newspaper headlines and town criers advertising the new plays. :D

 

Plays could have some "cheese for the mouse" ie. lore of places/items etc. in them.

 

I can see this as very popular mod idea if done right. Maybe use arena (night time?) for the stage...

I really like that idea of arena at night time 10 - 12 would be good :)

But you'd either have to edit some npcs (could mess up other mods)

or make new ones. (need a place to sleep)

I suppose it would be a use for some of oblivions always empty inns. Something that'll be be fixed in my people of cyrodiil mod :)

Men, I could never be against theaters :) So I'll enjoy the thread to post a personal suggestion too: A troupe, something Shakespeare alike going across the cities. Animators ho!

wow never thought somebody would come ever again at this topic :)

i forgot already about it , i posted it at the time i stopped playing oblivion cause of the respawn problem

and then started it again

but still i though on the theater cause there are many moments you dont have anything to do or need to wait so a theater with some of those works (like the books in oblivion)

or just post kind in the middle a diva and put an .mp3 of opera to listen and stuff

This suggestion is a lot different several are popping around here, even if difficult to do, even if was impossible to do, is something that have purpose. Not just: I request a New city city because I want to request something and other similar suggestions. Even more, although I don't remember something as such in the lore, I don't saw anything saying cannot. Indeed, people in Tamriel is more literate and art driven than many we see in the real world, I think they would love theaters :)

Once good idea is out there, it has a good chance of being implemented with time. Figuring out how to do something that is worth while to do, is almost half way there (imo)

 

 

The rest is easy. :-P

I liked Nosisab's suggestion of a travelling troupe that would perform on the streets.

They could do some light comedy plays, have a magician, maybe some small circus performances.

As the player enters a town, some NPC could handle her/him a flyer with the place/schedule of the next performance.

 

While the theater could carry some “big productions”, like classical plays, opera and/or dance/ballet.

 

(and what about a full Circus?)
