Caliente CBBE (and slim) armors

Could someone direct me to how to make an armor mod?

I like the Caliente CBBE and Slim body, but I'm not really a fan of the various armors that have been made for it so far. Yes, I would like to dress my toon in something a little sexier, but it is supposed to be armor (as in more than just a chainmail bikini)! :D

If someone is willing to tackle this (and modify the regular clothes to fit the CBBE body) I would be grateful. But if not, if someone could point me in the right direction on how to make them...

I have the modeling software, I just need to know the specifics of how to replace the armors (and how to access the default meshes so I can model the new ones to scale).

  1. Both 3dsMax and Blender have *.nif support (but not native) so they can open the vanilla armor meshes and whatever else you fancy.
  2. Download and Launch BSA Browser to extract the Skyrim Meshes and Textures archives in the Data folder.
  3. Make something to export first, and then worry about how to import them into the game. But if you want to jump the gun complete tutorials for Max users can be found HERE,
and HERE. Blender users start HERE.

* If you are a Blender user, do be aware that there is considerably less documentation for Blender users as the tools have been available for considerably less time. All steps involving Nifskope apply to exports from either program and are detailed in the Max tutorials, so be sure to view them anyway.

In the future go to the Tutorials section of the Nexus sites, run a search on the Nexus Forums an/or use google. It/s not that hard.

Happy modding!

Thanks so much, that's just what I was looking for! I was actually schooled on Maya, but I use 3d Max for work, so modeling it myself is really not a problem at all. I just didn't know how you actually get your own meshes into the game. This will help a great deal!

You can do your modelling in maya, just export the armor when you're finished into whatever format 3dsmax can open. Max is the only piece of software that has all the tools to add Skin data, dismemberment and proper exporting for *.nifs.

If you encounter any problems, share them here :)
