Me too. I finished my first playthrough a few weeks after the game came out, and said "right, I want to play this again, but not until all these unfortunate design decisions have been fixed in mods". A lot have been addressed in mods already, but there are a bunch more, and well... that's what WARS is for. (Issues relating to weapons and combat, anyway.)

 

So I've said it before in a few places, but I'm really hanging out for WARS to be done up to a certain point too, since I'm not playing the game again until it is. It's gonna be good to play it again; there's a lot waiting for me. E.g. all the DLC content.

In response to your answer on the Chinese Assault Rifle. That's okay, understand completely, though given that the Chinese did manufacture weapons in the US in some areas, maybe the Type-56 AK Variant would be more appropriate as an addition. To keep it simple, you could just make it a reskin that's applied to some ak rifles

Now, I know you're only doing guns, but good Lord the energy weapons could use an overhaul, too. However, even without a major overhaul, I'd imagine the energy weapon damage will need tweaking so that they don't become outclassed by the new guns.

This. I think there needs to be more variation in what ammo types they take. Only having plasma and fusion cells kinda limits you to 2 of each gun.

The AK will just be the AK included in Nuka World - with some fixes - unless when I finally get time to have a really good look at it, I find that I want to replace it. If that happens, I don't know about a Type 56. I'm not some AK-scholar or anything, but the differences between a Type 56 and (say) an AKM seem minor enough (at least in the context of a computer game like this) to be probably not worth all the extra work.

 

 

Could you possibly replace the lever-action rifle with some model of Winchester? Maybe replace the cowboy revolver with a colt of some form too? I wanna make my cowboy build a reality.

 

It's a possibility, but a pretty low priority for me. I'm not that into "Old West" style weapons, sorry.

Like I was just saying recently, WARS is really about real-world firearms, but I'll be at least rebalancing Energy weapons alongside the Guns. I doubt I'll be doing anything like re-introducing Small Energy Cells, but as with firearms ammo, I'll likely give existing ammo types some variants. (E.g. Overcharged, Max-Charged, etc.)
