Thanks for all the comments and suggestions on the pipe guns situation; I'll keep it all in mind.

 

 

Something I never thought to ask, when do you think certain weapons would spawn, and what would their costs in bottlecaps be? Even if you don't have numbers, do you have any rough estimates?

 

I have some rough ideas, but it's all too subject to change right now to really be worth commenting on.

 

 

What does the over all progress look like on this mod, I mean how close is it to being released?

You might want to use New Calibers as a dependency for WARS, it takes care of everything you set out to do with amunition

 

This isn't true, actually; it doesn't include any variants for respective calibres - armour-piercing, hollow-point, etc. It also isn't a pure resource master, as it makes its own changes to (for example) weapons, meaning it would conflict with WARS or at best have to be overridden by it. On top of that, it has its own dependencies that WARS doesn't need but would have to inherit.

 

I actually already mentioned in the Commentary post (second post in the thread) that New Calibers isn't suitable for WARS.

 

 

 

 

Altogether it would make the Minigun much more powerful, but it would still be very heavy, chew through heavy ammo, have tremendous recoil, etc.

 

Perhaps being mandatory to wear a powearmor to use it?

 

I don't know about having it be mandatory, but it does seem like power armour should have some kind of systemic effect on weapon recoil (and potentially things like how steady your aim is with weapons that weigh a lot). Maybe via its Strength boost, maybe on its own, maybe both, etc.

Would a minigun actually have much recoil? At least from what my grandpa has said about them, they lack recoil because they're electronically fired rather than using a regular firing pin. I don't know how true this is but I thought it would be worth mentioning. If weapon maintenance ever came into play for WARS/if someone else added a weapon durability plugin or something similar, maybe the minigun barrels would become damaged easily and need cleaning/repair/outright replacement?

 

Out of all the altered firearms, I'm most curious about the Deliverer. If a generic PPK is added, what would be different about the Deliverer? I think you said you didn't want to include legendary weapons, but I may have misread/misremembered something. On the topic of altered weapons, would the AK appear in the Commonwealth and not just Nuka-World? Or would a separate mod/patch be needed?

I'm no gun nut but whether it's fired with a firing pin or electrically the same amount of energy is exploding out of the front of the barrel, which means the same amount of energy is being forced back towards the user, so that doesn't sound accurate to me. Miniguns are pretty commonly known to have such an amount of recoil that it would be harmful to the user if he tried to fire it from the hip.

I'll probably give Deliverer slightly better stats than the non-unique PPKs I'm planning to add - and/or a Legendary effect of some kind, maybe. I don't mind Legendary effects, as long as they're not effectively magical enchantments, as a lot of them are in the base game.

 

I'll almost certainly add the AK to the greater Commonwealth, yes.

This is the mod that I'm waiting for most. I have toyed around with the idea of making something like this, simply because it needs to happen. I'm glad to see that someone who knows what he's doing is actually doing it instead. LOL

I don't know if you've answered this (probably several times) but how would you rate your progress so far?

How do you like your progress on the Glock? You said that the recoil will be more manageable with perks, so how bad is the recoil with full auto on the Glock? The Remington 700 is such a nice weapon! I can't wait for that!

Miniguns IRL have a huge amount of recoil. And none are single-man usable. For example, in the original Predator movie, they used a heavily modified gun in filming. The power cables were run through clothes and hidden away to connect to power. And only blanks or low loads were used. Even then, I heard that firing the gun knocked the actors on their backsides. So they also had to severely step down the rate of fire to reduce recoil even more.
