What are your plans for the Thompson, Double-Barrel and .44 Magnum?

My plans for the Thompson are still basically as mentioned in the OP - though if a good resource I can use comes along, I may replace it entirely.

With the double-barrel shotgun I may tweak its proportions a bit. A Nydar reflex sight might be a nice touch (hey, maybe for the Thompson too), but it depends on if I have time.

I haven't given much thought to the .44 Magnum yet, except for a particular new attachment I want to give it. I don't want to spoil the surprise at this early stage, but funnily enough it's one of the weapon mods (or sets of mods) as references that I was hinting at just earlier.

Hi antistar,

I didn't read the entire topic so forgive me if you already talked about that but I would like to know if you considered to add a AK plateform in your mod. If it is the case have you ever considered to add a mod part like in the movie Elysium? In case you never seen the movie yet, it's a AKM with a laser rangefinder which use fragmentation bullets to make it airburst like the XM-25 IRL. Here is a video of the scene from movie where it appear:

I'll at the very least be flipping the bolt and whatnot to the correct side, like it says in the OP. If I have time I may replace it; there's a lot of AK stuff out there for FO4.

An airburst round seems pretty complicated; off the top of my head I don't know how I would do that. (In the sense of giving it a variable fuse.) There's also part of me that wonders how you'd usefully fit a fuse + explosives + shrapnel into a 7.62x39mm bullet, so if I was going to do something like that, it would probably be in an actual grenade. ;)

As for the in game concerns you don't have to be close to a realistic airbust concept, as the vanilla game already use a legendary attribute to give frag rounds to weapons (with AOE), I think it could make the trick fair enought.

As for the realistic capability of a 7,62x39mm bullet to carry a explosive charge, indeed our actual technologies can't allow this right now. The IRL prototype Barrett XM109 use 25x59mm high velocity rounds which is pretty big but in decades who knows what we could do with our trend to miniaturizing everything.

I mean before the XM25, which is in actual service, we used 40mm grenades for grenade launchers. Today we use the 25mm low velocity smart rounds for the XM25. Tomorrow we could cut the size even more, in fact the prototype XM29 OICW already used a 20×28mm smart grenade, I know it's a proto but the Fallout serie already used some prototype like the HK G11. However I completely understand if you're not open-minded to this type of anticipating concept.

Just for the fun here are the original rounds imagined by the FX designer from the movie:

I'm a Sig Sauer guy myself, but I am glad to see a Glock in this project. I apologize for not commenting sooner, but I guess I just felt like lurking on this topic  I used to be in the U.S. Army and unfortunately never got my hands on a AR 15. We still use Colt M16s and M4s. From what I saw I learned, they are quite similar though. I hate the M16, but It is a reliable weapon.

Really I'm just using "AR-15" as a general name for the weapon - for the "platform", I guess you'd say - since you can mix and match various pieces. The receiver, barrels and stocks are basically all various M4 and M16 pieces though, as I understand it.

It does look pretty damn versatile! Very nice job on putting everything together. I can't imagine how much work and headaches you get for putting this together.
