STSG
When sometimes exporting a nif file from 3ds max the vertices more then duplicate for no apparent reason. How? Why? How to prevent this? A nif file i was working with got 4x time in size while i was editing it a bit :ohdear:
Ghogiel
vertices are duplicated at smoothing groups/hard edges and UV seam splits.
STSG
I imported a nif file then exported without changes. It went from 20k to 25k vertices, is that normal? :S (originally that file was slighyl less then 4k vertices) Edited December 28, 2011 by STSG
Ghogiel
I dunno maybe.. Just depends on what you did and what you didn't do to it :)
throttlekitty
Mirrored and overlaid UVs tend to get at all the triangles split as well.
