dovapix
Hi guy's, First time i tried to make a multilayer parralax in SSE and it seem to not be working properly let me explain; To see if the shader was working i just load that superb soulgem parralax mod and everything work fine in game, so i went and created one from scratch in most recent nifskope version but in game it show as grey just like no texture can be displayed at all! I have verified and re verified all flags and setting and even copy the mesh from the soulgem with it's own BSshader node and it was again grey in game but was working perfectly fine when i load the original mod. So i think the issue is with the recent version of nifskope since when you chose multilayer parralax as shader the mesh vanish from view but you can still see the wiremesh when selecting the node. I even try re saving in a few various nifskope versions without any success so i am stuck with this ice mod. I ask here since the nifskope forum is dead. Tarshana
I believe you have to get the latest ENB stuff and work within that, like before, when it comes to parralax. It is not something you will just see without ENB since it is an ENB feature.

But contrary to your assertion, NifSkope's dev thread is fairly active.

Thank tarshana but the multi layer parallax i am talking about have nothing to do with ENB since there is 2 different parallax shader and one rely on ENB to get parallax effect on landscape and this one is only a depth effect or sub scattering FX. But contrary to your assertion, NifSkope's dev thread is fairly active. Hi Ishmaeltheforsaken, Believe me i have verified and re verified all flags and settings and they were identical and i even load the mesh and texture from the soulgem mod and it show as grey. It has something to do with the nifskope version it was build in and the latest version yield the greyish mesh with no texture showing only a dull grey just like the code to load a bitmap is absent from the shader and defaulting to grey. I tried the effect in regular Skyrim legendary edition and it is working perfectly but in Skyrim special edition it show as grey so this is definitively a Nifskope issue. Regarding the niftools forum activity it is almost dead except for Jon who replied to a guy about cryptology or something like that and you can see plenty of post with no answer at all and they said that the 3ds max plugin have no one working on it. But we never know i will take a chance and post a thread over there just in case.
dovapix
OK i figured it out! Multi layer parallax wont work on a custom mesh all by it's own, you need to first grab an existing mesh with the parallax effect already on like ex; data\meshes\landscape\ice\iciclebigclump.nif and replace the mesh by your custom one in older version of nifskope so you have the OBJ import option available and it should work fine. Hope it's help other in the way
dovapix
An important update after some more test; It seem like if a nif was not created originally with a multi layer parallax shader in it then it will not be working since i tried to copy the branch of my working multi layers parallax mesh to an existing nif without any multi layers parallax in it originally and it does not work but if i loaded the nif as a single one then it work. I hope i am not spreading more confusion since i am trying to make my post count so other are not falling in the same frustrating testing sessions.
