Looooooooong delay in scripted actions (script lag?!)

Your logs are 200-300Mb in size after only about 20 minutes of play!

You are having a major issue with Papyrus stack thrashing and stack dumps.

The culprit is Endless Warfare.

Try uninstalling that mod. If it has any loose scripts, delete them.

Cheers

Can anyone take a looksee at the papyrus logs in the post above?

or just guess from my load order what can be done to alleviate the problem?

Steve40 already did that. He's one of our best and brightest papyrus scripters. He said Endless Warfare is causing your problems. It's the post on page 2 right above yours. :)

lol.

that hillarious gif...

i played with endless warfare for more than 100 hours without issue. strange that this happened all of a sudden.

Can you figure out why?

I read a post on the "endless warfare" posts page that said something about this mod combined with a follower mod is causing a script bloat or however you might call it. i am using a unlimited follower mod as well, though i am only having two followers at a time. no more. but who knows? this combination could be the culprit.

OK. i will uninstall these mods for now, but tell me - what do you mean by "If it has any loose scripts, delete them"? do you mean loose PSC files?

and thank you very much for helping me this far, guys. much appreciated.

That means check the scripts folder after you've uninstalled the mod to make sure that the mod manager removed them all correctly. You can manually download that mod to somewhere on your drive and open up the archive to see what exactly the script files are called to make sure they all got removed. If the mod manager failed to remove them all, they will still cause issues for you.

If the mod has loose PEX files in DATA/SCRIPTS, delete them or they will still bloat your logs. I haven't downloaded this mod, so I don't know if it uses loose files or if it only has an esp and bsa archive.

Edit: btw, I did not see any problem with your follower mods. Endless Warfare was the only mod spamming errors to your logs.

Edit2: the reason the script broke is that it has a continuous timer and an actor (or actors) that had the script got deleted. The script appears to lack a sanity check to detect if the actors it is manipulating still exist or not, so the timer keeps running continuously and fails because its target actor doesn't exist - creating spam and eventually, recursion and stack dumps. It's clear the mod is overloading your script engine. Setting the mod to have substantially fewer spawns might help, but it won't fix the missing actor problem.

I am already using only a 5% spawn rate with the mod so only an occasional group of 1 to 5 entities spawn here and there. i find it the best mix of random action and suspension and some downtime exploration in between so the commonwealth isnt crowded.

OK, so here's an update:

You were absolutely right....

not that i ever doubted you, of course....
using the mod's Holotape UI i deleted all the spawned entities it created, stopped the spawning process and then uninstalled the mod. did a new save. loaded that save and the lag was gone completely. everything works as smoothly as it used to.

i then reinstalled the mod and everything is still working smoothly.

if i ever get this issue again i will try this method a second time and hope it will help once more.

i will not play without Endless warfare. the game just isnt fun for me without it. it's one of my two must have mods for FO4 so im glad there is at least a fix. and a rather simple one.

Thanks you very much, guys! you saved my game and my enjoyment. very VERY much appreciated you coming back here, posting and reposting to help me out.

cheers!

Steve40 knows way more about scripting than I do for sure, but from what little I do know, I think the problem will just eventually come back and can't be resolved until the mod author fixes their script. What you did is probably just a temporary fix.
