Varichi
Just because you don't use FNIS does not mean that one of your mods is expecting it to be present. As FNIS does not change your game by itself, it would be worth it to install it. If you are opposed to that for whatever reason, you will have to go to each of your mods and find whichever one adds or tweaks animations and remove it safely to eliminate that bug. Some mods do not explicitly state that they require FNIS, a lot of modders who create those mods assume you have it installed or aren't experienced enough to list it as a requirement. I would encourage you to install it anyway, as many mods use it and it's very easy to install and is more of a utility than an actual mod, but it's up to you. I never mentioned that I oppose to installing FNIS, I have no quarrel with FNIS. ( How can I, I never used it. :) ) it is just that the mods I have used / am using do not require it, so there never was a reason to install it. :) And why would mods that I have used many times before without them creating the file I mentioned, suddenly start creating a FNIS file? That is the reason why I would like to know which mod does this? I do not like files being created without knowing what does that. ( Despite the fact that this file is harmless. ) As for installing FNIS, well I do not like installing a mod mid game, to many things that can go wrong as you know. ( I will have to wait and see what I will do. )
Varichi
I cannot answer that, I can only say what it sounds to me the solution would be. Considering that fore knows more than almost anyone else on this issue, and certainly knows FNIS, I have to go with what he says too. As far as FNIS goes though, I can say that's pretty safe to install or update in my experience. I do agree with your reluctance midway through a save, but it might be the last resort. I hope you can figure out which mod would cause that issue, because I'd like to know why files are suddenly appearing in my load order as well. You're not subscribed to any mods on Steam, are you? One of them could have easily decided to add something in an update.
