HadToRegister
well maybe its the pc version that sucks because my ps3 version has only encountered about three or four bugs, and i have about 50 hours of playtime. Just remember, that all the bugs listed in that url that jim_uk posted, probably affect all of the platforms. If the game is having that much problems on the PS3 with the save game getting large and making the game run like a slide-show, that pretty much says thatthey didn't even bother to have testers play the game on all systems to see if any of the quests were buggy etc. There was definitely no Quality Control, if there was, it was excruciatingly minimal. Thing is, Bethesda has already won Studio of the Year and other Awards for Skyrim, because these Awards ceremonies are nonsense and are only awarding the hyped-up product rather than the actual product. These game magazine and TV channels vote for Game of The Year and Studio of the Year months before the product actually comes out, they really need to tone that stuff down and vote on the actual game, not some random gameplay footage and screenshots and empty promises. If Skyrim only had 50 bugs, and people just didn't complain, then the next game might have 100 bugs, because we as consumers let them get away with 50 bugs on the previous game. Why doesn't anybody want to stand up for their rights as consumers anymore, and instead just shrug their shoulders and say "It's a buggy game, deal with it"? If your grocery store starting selling you rotten food and sour milk are you saying you wouldn't complain?
scot
well maybe its the pc version that sucks because my ps3 version has only encountered about three or four bugs, and i have about 50 hours of playtime. Problem is my computer is much better than xbox and ps3 together and I can run any game on ultra with no problems, my skyrim was working fine before the patch 1.3.10. Ferey2k
I never had any bugs which made my game unplayable! Sometimes the whole game crashed.. but thats a fact i had to accept and that was after 40-50 hours of playing the only problem. But unlike Gothic 3 or the beginnings of Oblivion is my version of Skyrim (with only the first patch) on my PC a full working game! But that doesn't mean there aren't a lot of people running into them on a regular basis. That's why it's not bitching or whining but something justified, since even the developers admit to quite a number of them. Obviously I'm just lucky with my configuration. And that's all there is to it.
CalibanX
Nobody likes bugs. They are disappointing. They don't ruin the game for me, but they diminish it. It's very important that users go to forums like the official Bethesda forums to "complain" about these bugs so that hopefully, Bethesda will fix them. coreypikes
The only bug I've run into is the "Can't rename self enchanted weapons/armor" which has aleady been fixed. You know, if you go over that list slowly, a lot of these so called "bugs" are acctuly game mechanics that people just don't like. Like Destruction magic nop scaling. Not a bug, a feature. On top of that, there are a few on there that are UDI issues that can fixed by removing the U from the DI.
HadToRegister
So some peoples gas pedals stick in the 2010 Toyotas, the rest of the car looks and runs great, people should stop picking on Toyota and let them make more cars that need to be recalled. gigantibyte
40-50 hours, no problems. After 100+, not so bug free. I'm only at level 29, and already experiencing the dreaded savegame bloat bug. I turned off all autosaving and uninstalled the few simple mods that were in use, but I get CTDs with increasing frequency. So I export what I can of my character into a new game to have some semblance of continuity, and now I am CTD-free for the moment. On one hand, having a refreshed world to do other quests in isn't so bad. But what's the point of a game trying to remember stuff if any kind of real extended play makes the game crash? Keeping the NPC/quest memory and ditching the rest would probably go a long way, but would make the game ridiculously easy. In Borderlands, I can play well over 100 hours and get to level 71 with no crashes, but there is little to no memory in the environment. Perhaps a happy medium between the two? Perraine
I too am heartily sick of the random exits to desktop, not even an actual 'crash' that at least, would generate an error report so you could maybe figure out what went wrong, but nope it just ... exits ...no warning, no stutter, no error message just <poof> and your staring at your desktop. But I guess we'll just have to wait, and wait, and wait for BS to finally patch the game to playability, IIRC it only took a couple of years to get FO3 working right. 40-50 hours, no problems. There is the key I think, My first character killed a bandit not far from Honningbrew Meadery (?) when he was about lvl 3, now he's at lvl 71 and the bandits hand axe is still there on the road as is his buddies shield! I mean seriously, does the game really need to remember that! Or running past the guard tower where you kill your first dragon and every time I do, a dragon skeleton pops out of nowhere and bounces around on the ground! It's been so long that it should have decomposed naturally by now! The manual actually even warns you that leaving things in random barrels is risky because things may not be there when you get back, but I have never had a single item go missing! My lvl 71 toon has tens of thousands of gold worth of stuff in the barrels just outside the blacksmith in Whiterun and nothing is ever missing. A simple in game mechanic could be - Whiterun Guard " someone could trip over this and hurt themselves" <sigh> "I guess I have to clean this up, <sigh> I wish I hadn't taken that arrow to the knee, I never had to clean up when I was adventuring" Or if you drop it or store anywhere that isn't designated "yours" (like beds are marked as 'owned') you lose it - period - Even a little message could appear at the top of the screen " A thief has stolen some of the items you left at <insert cell id name here>" Problem fixed! Now the game doesn't have to 'remember' every butterfly wing you drop

Ironically I kind of "like" that, because what Oblivion and Fallout 3 would do, is crash, but stay on the screen and deny you access to your dekstop to shut it down, so you either had to blindly hit CTRL ALT DEL then hope that the "Blah Blah program is unresponsive, to you want to close it?" popup had focus, and hit ALT+E to shut it down, or you'd have to hard reboot your computer and risk messing up the hard drivies.Someone actually made a mod called "Littleboy" you started it before starting FO3, and could use the key combination of CTRL ALT K to shut down a stuck FO3,because the problem was so common. Now, because I have two monitors, I keep Windows Task Manager running in one monitor, just so if a games Freezes on me I can ALT TAB and mouse over to the Task Manager and pick "End Process" Because that's what I have to do for every other game that I own.........NOT
