crawe1x
I haven't figured out that Legendary effects stuff. How does it work? Normally you find the Legendary effects on weapons dropped by Legendary enemies. However, there are a bunch of mods that allow you to directly craft legendary effects onto your weapon at the weapon workbench, just like you would add a new receiver or stock. The most well known mod is Legendary Modification, though I prefer Love To Craft - Legendary, which is more up to date. As far as the actual legendary effects work, this gives a decent overview: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Legendary_weapon_effects It's basically just 'magic'. Instead of giving us incendiary bullets, for instance, Beth gave us Incendiary and Explosive legendary effects. I'm not crazy about the system - it feels too much like Skyrim - but that's the game. I think the most popular effects include Explosive, Instigating, Kneecapper, Never Ending, Powerful/Mighty, Rapid, Two Shot and Wounding. There are some effects that I avoid because they don't make sense and are immersion breaking. Just personal choice. Certain weapons, particularly shotguns, miniguns and SMGs (all of which are given a raw deal in the base game), benefit hugely from specific legendary effects. A shotgun with the Explosive effect basically turns into a kind of cluster bomb missile launcher.
crawe1x
Well, I didn't mean the vanilla "auto", which actually fires less often than the semi-auto. I meant my own shotgun minigun  But yeah, it's... living on the edge :tongue:Ah yes, I just checked out your mod and I see what you mean. I did craft an explosive minigun some time back, but I ended up turning myself into raspberry jam every time I fired too low and accidentally hit a blade of grass right in front of me. :D
Bernt
My usual stuff sice Fallout 1. A powerful - today that means a fully modded- .50 cal sniper rifle. For close range I've come to like the .45 Tommy gun. It's heavy but with the right mods I think it's pretty efficient. And of course my beloved frag grenades for general bloody murder and mayhem :woot:
Crimsomrider
Handmade Rifle from Nuka-World, although I am more a fan of rifles like Lever-Action Rifle from Far Harbor or World War 2 rifles like Garand, Leinfield and so on.
Arneercool
Mod weapons count?, because The Mauser bolt rifle is not only insanely awesome, it is to some extend both lore friendly AND realistic. Absolutely love it. Goes for most mods that brings ww1-ww2 weapons/outfits to the table.
Bernt
Of course mod weapons count. Just found the AutoMag. I love the .44 magnum round. And this - real- gun is delightfully different
Moraelin
Oh, btw, not a weapon per se, but if you are into big melee weapons, the best upgrade you can get for one is... a power armour frame. The third person swing animations in power armour are substantially faster, which translates directly into higher DPS.
Gilibran
The Modern Firearms 88mm tank canon, i use it exclusively for BoS hunting together with the Space Marine armor mod.
chillshock
I've got a Two-Shot .44 If only there was enough .44 ammo around, I'd use it exclusively.
Moraelin
Actually, I must be the only one who dislikes Two Shot. It severely increases both spread and recoil. Beyond short-ish range, you're pretty much guaranteed that only one of the projectiles hits, if any, and then you do half the damage it says on the tin. Yeah, that's total not per bullet. I don't even know what I find more cringe-worthy: A) seeing some YouTuber try to snipe with a two-shot rifle, and miss, or B) seeing some youtuber struggle to control the recoil of some automatic weapon with two-shot on it.
