RhemaTom
I have noticed the past day or so that when I search I am not finding all the mods correctly. I have had to actually search on Google for the links to mods I was trying to find. The search on Fallout 4 Nexus did not show them. Is there a reason for this, or is the search not working properly? Thanks. Edited December 13, 2016 by RhemaTom
JimmyRJump
Depends on your Nexus settings: when having added content you don't want to see, like mods containing blood/gore/whatever, mods that are tagged as such won't be shown. Although it's a bit of a mystery to me how that works because I too had and have some mods not showing, despite my preference set to show everything... damanding
There's one mod, Full Dialogue Interface that I absolutely cannot find using search on Nexus, I have to go to Google for it, and it's because the only tag I block is translations. If you want to see what tags you have blocked: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/users/tagpreferences/?
RhemaTom
I have checked my search settings, and I am searching for everything. I have had to resort to Google to find mods I am searching for, then finding links to them on Nexus. But the Nexus search does not show them. It concerns me, as I sometimes search for mods that are for specific purposes, and if I can't find them, I have no idea they exist. Such as searching for "auto" and getting no mods found. Then a Google search reveals the mod I was looking for and I can see its page on Nexus, but could not find it using Nexus search feature. Interestingly, I have checked again for items I was searching for and unable to find, and now can find them. So there is definitely something weird happening. Just not sure what. lol :) Edited December 14, 2016 by RhemaTom
damanding
Forum search engines will never be as advanced as google. I've found on this site that if I use more than 2 words I probably won't find anything. Oddly enough using the full title of a mod will frequently not find it, but if I shorten the title I do. You can also use a very handy google feature that lets you limit your google searches to a specific website, such as nexus. #4 of this lifehack article shows you how. http://www.lifehack.org/articles/technology/20-tips-use-google-search-efficiently.html
RhemaTom
Thanks, but it is not a huge problem. I've been able to find specific mods I was searching for, even if I had to use Google. I was just bringing this up for concern that some people's mods may not be found by specific keywords, but as I note, the same search a day or so later produced correct results. So, it might just be some kind of hiccup, and possibly something to do with my browser or lost packets in the communication between my computer and Nexus. At any rate, not critical for me. Just bringing it to attention for the Nexus developers, just in case. :)
rko381
I am getting this message saying "This mod contains content that you have blocked in your settings and will not be visible in any of your search results."WHAT setting? It would really like to know, because that alert does NOT explain a damn thing. How am I supposed to know what setting needs to be changed, if the alert does NOT tell me? I checked my settings and I cannot find a single item that I am blocking, that would prevent me from seeing mods, AWKCR or ArmorSmith Extended. So... what magical setting do I need to toggle, to get this bullshit new version of Nexus to work right?
