Patched to 1.3, Lost all Sound

So I havn't played skyrim in over almost a month, pretty much all winter break. I finally decide to hook up my ps3 and get back into it. I open the game, and let it patch to 1.03

Once it launches, I notice that the Bethesda Logo did not beat the familiar ominous drums that it usually does, which I thought was odd. So I open my game, and go into settings and turn the Master all the way up. Cast fire, and not a peep. No sound whatsoever.

I exit the game and on the PS3 menu I hear the clicks of navigating items, so it is not my TV or the PS3, it is Skyrim.

Is anyone else having this problem?? :( :(

I refuse to play this game without the wonderful world of sound.

Sorry to hear... the 1.03 patch made Skyrim so laggy on my PC that it is unplayable. IT was reasonably playable before this nightmare.

MDM...that's really weird. I foolishly updated to 1.3 but besides the usual problem of not being able to look up or down, i still have the sound and the ominous drumbeat when the game launches.

I'm afraid i'm not much help to you, but at leatst you now know that not all of us are experiencing the problem you seem to be having with the sound. It could be an isolated problem.

Hopefully others who do have that same problem will respond here. If no one does, it may have nothing to do

with the latest patch.

Good luck anyway.

Yes, I lost my vertical mouse movement in game too (though not in the menus) so had to revert to 1.1 on my PC. I bought the PS3 version for my nephew and he's not having any sound problems (or any other problems...yet!) Try going back to your Steam account to verify your cache because it sounds like you got a faulty patch download.
