MaesterAelix
Such things could be misc, cause they aren't really a spring-able trap. However, more radient "radioactive stuff" would be good. Not sure how CoA feels about super mutants. They are immune to dad's and are that way from fev. Ghouls however would probably be cool [i know back in 3 there was a break-away group that venerated ghouls] A special kind of resource gathering thing that produces dirty water and nuclear material from a leaking rad barrel would be neat. tawatabak
@tawatabak Do you have a location in mind that's highly irradiated (minus Kiddie Kingdom which is sprayed with radiation by the ghouls)? Nuka-World would be last. Right now I'm working on the vanilla and assets, then Far Harbor, then anything else. I did have an idea for Nuka-World but that's on the shelf.well i did some research and didnt find any radiated locations but like others have mentoined , if u add some settlementobject that are iradiated like barrels, the player could make every settlement full of atoms glow maybe some waterpumps for dirty water and some food like iradiated thistle and glowing fungus
genolune
They are immune to dad's and are that way from fev. That's news to my character! The FEV won't stop my paternal ways! :p A joke on how you said dad instead of rad. The only reason I don't do a full Peter Pan Lost Boys settlement at Mass Fusion Disposal Site, is that Nuka-World uses one of those Super Mutants for an extortion radiant quest (because I've done that quest before). Otherwise, it would be perfect. "A special kind of resource gathering thing that produces dirty water and nuclear material from a leaking rad barrel would be neat." I believe Northland Diggers has similar themed benches and such. All you would need is an animation marker as part of the set and assign someone and they would scoop or dig or whatever. coolphoton1234
...Not sure how CoA feels about super mutants. They are immune to dad's and are that way from fev.... Atom embraces all. By force if necessary. On topic: Anywhere on The Island (lore-wise) would support a CotA settlement, provided there are no fog condensers, but Haddock Cove, Radiant Crest Shrine, Glowing Grove, Atom's Spring, and the Children of Atom shrine seem extra lore-ie. In the Commonwealth the Decayed Reactor Site, Skylanes Flight 1665, and the Sentinel Site (all in the Glowing Sea) seem lore friendly and interesting places to build. Immersion-wise, perhaps you could make some sort of 'visited the friendly CotA (been to the crater and/or the Nucleus)' flag for the ability to build the CotA beacon? The ease of getting the rad immune settlers is really the only immersion braking thing. its not just the spawn 20 settlers in 2 minutes thing. There really should be a "prove your devotion to atom and your competence" requirement before you can get the insular Children to go to your generally very dangerous(the heart of the glowing sea, anywhere on The Island without fog condensers to hold back the fog creatures), settlement. I don't know if it is in your intentions, but perhaps some sort of workstation to make basic CotA stuff (the robes, gamma guns, radium rifles) would be appropriate, because as far as I can tell, right now the most effective way to get those is to kill and loot the CotA...witch would anger Atom, not to mention the CotA faction that you attacked. Over all my vision, ever sense my first trip to Far Harbor, is that I am no longer the General. I am the emissary of Atom. His will made manifest! I will Unify the Commonwealth in his name!....Ahem..*coff*...anyway... Your mod is like 5 steps in that direction. Keep up the *Awesome* work *Edit: Can you restrict who attacks a settlement? If you can perhaps restricting attacks on high rad locations to super mutants, the institute (synths are rad proof right?) robots and maybe the BoS would be thematically appropriate. Flowerguy360
As far as Nuka World settlements go, there is a swamp-like spot that is pretty irradiated and away from the park, with a half-built metal shack thing. This would actually be a great spot for a Children of Atom settlement. I have some quick testing to do, any way, so I'll pop in and find it and post something on the map in an edit. Edit: Not as irradiated as I thought, except for the water. But here are some pics... http://i.imgur.com/YJxO8Xjr.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RWCH9Ne.jpg http://i.imgur.com/pCCYiF2.jpg I think something descriptive like Nuka Docks would do.And, as Tawatabak suggested, adding some radiation barrels would go a long way to making it feel like home for Atom's Kids. MaesterAelix
Doesn't "Manufacturing Extended" let you build radium rifles, gamma guns, n ammo? http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15429/? Dunno about the CoA rags ... Maybe an extension?
coolphoton1234
Gamma guns are vanilla with the factories, but as far as I can tell neither ME or vanilla add the radium riffle, and the rags are available in AWKCR.... I think. For the most part it was a thematic 'one stop shop for all your CotA needs' suggestion.
genolune
So now we need some good pictures of Radiation barrels with ooze for Ethreon and a small church building. I'm thinking something like the Boston Commons park dome, except instead of stone and pillars it's wood stairs & floor with metal shack walls. Maybe a static resized mini-nuke in the center. I just swapped my Windows 10 laptop to my Windows 7 desktop so hopefully both Fallout 4 and the Creation Kit will be more stable and work can commence again. @Flowerguy and others: Use this with the "tmm 1" console command to scout around for potential places: Feyawen's Map Markers So it's me on the Creation Kit, others are providing third party assets, Ethreon is doing the modelling thing, what I need from everyone else will be bugtesting, ideas, and scouting. Specifically, once I get everything rebuilt, I need someone who hasn't cleared out Kingsport Lighthouse, to test a potential bug for me. I want to see if using a setowned trigger to get the settlement working without killing the Children of Atom will conflict with the Minutemen quest Taking Point: Kingsport Lighthouse. I need to know if that will still come up if you own the workshop already and/or if stepping into the trigger will complete the quest. EDIT: The new version is up: Children of Atom Overhaul
MaesterAelix
Ill roll up a new character tonight and test that Kingsport / Minuteman thing.
genolune
Test version 1.3. I am going to move the Kingsport Lighthouse and Mass Fusion Disposal Site changes to an experimental file for those who don't mind testing. Also, I'll get a picture up of a spot I found for a Nuka-World outpost for the Children of Atom.
