Falconsflight
Thanks everyone for the comments, I still have examine them in more detail but I wrote down a few creatures that caught my eye. I will be writing the descriptions when I get a chance (combat, characteristics, location, etc) Edited January 5, 2012 by Falconsflight
9837265498
Here is an idea i had, but completely lack the skills to implement. Rock Golems - Tolkien goblin like creatures that have bone plates that mimic stone. They like mountain forest regions and hunt the wildlife through surprise. When they are waiting for their prey (or the player) they will fold up their limbs, go into a crouched position, and their stone head plate, shoulder plates, back plate, left arm plate (think tower shield), and right arm plate (buckler) align so as to look like a seamless boulder. When prey gets near (ten feet or so), They jump up, scream and charge using claws on there left arm and their "shield". They would be very strong since they are mostly made of stone but are susceptible to fire since they are designed to live in the cold mountain regions. I realize how difficult a creature this would be to make, but i believe you could use the falmer skeleton and models as a base.hopefully someone will make this creature come to life ( at least in skyrim). Ya I really like the idea, I will just put the name as a placeholder for now, and I will definitely try this one, probably second or third. iggy1eco
If there was this kind of "Zombie Village" around Zombies would be a good add. I mean, a player is wandering around, someone finds this place (no matter, a huge camp, a couple of houses) and then BANG, some screaming humanoid comes to get us with this huge hand-to-hand damage, and if the player is hit it would get some kind of badass desease that needs some custom, moded crafty potion to cure it. I know, it's cliché and there are plenty undead around, plus, they're not that supernatural even if they could be servants of Namira (there I go with this Daedra 'Matriarch' again xP), but still I leave here the idea. A Centaur, coming from a «Elk» body and substitute the neck-head part for a torso and head with this Ancient Nord Armor and a Waraxe. Cerberus - someone is wandering around, (again), in the dark and a huge 3 headed dog comes howling at us. Could be black with lava markings here and there just to let us know that it definetly comes from Oblivion. and...and...a PIXIE!!! but since you've got the fairies, well, is that the same thing? =/

They actually built some of a centaur for skyrim, I guess they never finished it because all that is there is the skeleton for it in the data files... I expect it in a DLC... Thanks for the info :). In that case I hope so, It would be a great add to the wildlife, maybe joining them with the sprigans

PirateDragon
Yeah, the Skyrim Bestiary is woefully weak in comparison to other games. Right off the bat I'm hoping modders bring a lot of the critters from Oblivion into the game such as: Goblins - what RPG doesn't have goblins!!Demons - really anything missing from the plain of Oblivion...Minotaurs...mountains aren't the same without them. When I look at other games...well...there are so many other creatures that are missing it makes my head hurt.

Ya this is generally how I feel, I saw the number of mobs in skyrim before playing and was like really? is that all? I mean they do great with what they have but there needs to be more variety. I was about to ask, 'why would a rock monster eat flesh?' but upon re-reading that it sounds like they'd have a chitinous exterior and be flesh and blood. Are you thinking rock monster in a Zelda 'Goron' sense, or a Mudcrab-like sense?
