Marriage Enhancement

Ever go home to the little missus, talk to her, Ask how things were, talk about the future, what the plans are. see what opinons she has on thing, if that's a new dress? Me neither. Al I can is sell things to her (where's she keep the stuff and why charge your own spouse? What happened to communal property?) And collect money like she was paying rent.

It would be nice to have a lot more immersion for the little lady. Here's some ideas.

She gives you random materials to craft items with instead of money (For immersion sake you give her up to x money to get it and she comes back with betwen .75 -1.5 times the worth in soul gems and crafting materials) Take sa day or so.

You supply the store yourself, you give whatever you want to sell, no money limit. The only catch is she doesn't pay you herself, she only acts as a vendor to sell it to others, and it might take up to 3 or more days to sell the equipment at which time you get all the money. You can take the items back of course, assuming she hasn't sold it yet.

Ever heard a guard say "Can you enchmant my sword?" Sure, talk to the missus, you supply the weapon and the sould gem and I'll see what I can do. Or for even more money, I'll supply the gem. Just tell me what enchenment you need, after all, good training for me.

A guard wants to upgrade his armor, talk to the missus.

Need a new wapon/armor, the missus.

Missus, I need alchemy reagents, I know you can't sell stuff at the same time and all selling timers will be halted until you collect them, but please get them for me anyways.

Missus, I have no idea what I am doing with these reagents, can you find me a scroll with recipes on it. Iknow it will cost something, but take it out of the money I gave you.

Missus, you should be able to follow me around, put this armor on, don't care if you are a follower or not (can be done with console)

And conversation options, if it were feasible, which it isn't, unfortuneately.

Romance side Use something along the lines of Fable 3 as a template.

Quests or stuff that she can do herself or together would be good.

Maybe conversation options, character background something.

The marriage quest as it stands feels exactly like a quest. Theres no, i like that character and do a few quests, dates, gifts etc. Then marriage.

Instead its as you said, sell some stuff, collect some 'rent', take them with if they are a follower and thats it. Got married, another quest complete. Seems like it was a bit half baked really.

When it comes down to it, how many romance mods or companion romance mods came out for Morrowind/Oblivion/FO3/FNV, Some of them being my favorite mods for the game eg. tears of the fiend, or romancing eyja (?), etc.

I'm sure there will be many mods that will deal with the marriage feature once the CK is released.

some really good suggestions there , i think it would be nice to be able to get divorced without the need to bump her off and blame it on a werewolf , to be able to remarry .

also im actually working on making some better house wear for her or sleepwear one thing i cant stand is her walking around the house and cooking in battle armour , i mean talk about paranoid what is she expecting to happen , in the home ? dedera to jump out from under the bed or me turning in to a werewolf or perhaps its to keep me away @ bed time :)

you have my seal of approval.

Though i love Bethesda's way of thinking: Wives are for earning you some money, cooking you, buy useless stuff from your adventures or possibly carry it while spelunking. Chauvinistic much?

more interaction would definitely be good

Also, i think its odd that Aela (and other badass warrior chics) are willing to cook for you, and they cook the same meal as any other servant wife.

so it would be cool to have different personas, like, if your wife is a warrior type of character, she wouldn't cook for you, or atleast her foods weren't as good as... kitchen...-y wife. y´know

I agree.

One major addition though: your wife should really have a *visible* stand in the marketplace where you live. This coupled with the idea of you supplying the store with items would make the entire "wife runs the store while the adventurer is away" idea much more interesting. Personally, all I use my wife for now is a vendor to sell my items to (those that I bring home and decide I don't really want to keep) and a source of daily income.

Along with this idea and that of having your wife run around looking for items for you, it would be nice for her to have a true schedule throughout the day, taking time to wander around the market, taking to people, cooking, sleeping, etc. I chose to wed Muiri and all she does is wander around the house and use my alchemy set. This is boring.

Additional marriage enhancement: it would be nice for a mod that equips clothing instead of armor when you enter your house (or perhaps when you enter town in general - even if you are assassinating someone, all you need is a dagger at your side). I feel that clothing in this game is underused and I can't personally imagine wearing dragonplate everywhere, always.
