Help - Skyrim crashing in specific places

Hi, so I've been dealing with crash issues for the past 3 or so days. Why only the past 3 or so days? 'cause that's when I decided to start getting some mods to make this game more replayable.

After Bethesda's 4gb ram patch came out, I was still playing regular ole vanilla Skyrim for, I think it's been 2 weeks... For those two weeks with vanilla Skyrim and the 4gb ram increase, I had a perfectly fine Skyrim... So well, I decided to get some mods...

And ever since I got mods, Skyrim's been crashing again like the days before that 4gb ram patch was released...

What's even weirder is, in addition to going back to crashing like before, I'm also crashing in specific places like 100% of the time.

I thought these places were common buggy areas, but common bugs are usually recorded on the Skyrim Wikis or something and these following areas are not listed in the Wikis as being bugged... for example, i always crash when i try to enter Embershard Mine (i think i've only been there once before this consistent crash thing came up)... and also, now im always crashing when i try to enter this other place, i believe it's called Pineshack (never been here before)

I also have a high chance (so, not all the time, but a lot) of crashing when trying to enter Dragonsreach or Proudspire Manor...

The way these crashes happen is, I try to enter a new area, so i'm supposed to go to the loading screen, ya know with the black screen with the smoke, and some facts with a model displayed usually... but in these crashes for entering new areas, i dont even get to see the loading screens, the moment i would open a door for example, a second later the game just closes

I'm trying to do a Thieves Guild quest but i am crashing 100% trying to enter thru the quest destination's door...

So, just as a quick summary recap:

- Before mods, and after getting 4gb ram update: Skyrim working perfectly

- I decide to get mods (have somewhere between 5-10 of them, some of them are gameplay changers, others are textures)... now Skyrim is back to crashing, so I believe it might have to do with my mods

- Game crashes in specific and random places, don't even get to see the loading screen, game crashes instantly before the black loading screen appears

- Next plan of action is to hear a little advice from you guys, and also considering removing all the mods to test it out

One more question that's related to removing mods, so i have a mod that gave me access to unenchanted Nightingale armor, if i get rid of that mod that gave me that armor, what would happen to the armor? Don't know a lot about computers so, yeah a little background about me.

Thanks in advance for the advice guys, Skyrim is an amazing and beautiful game and I really want to get the most out of this game by not crashing every few minutes, and being able to actually go into areas of quest destinations.

I don't know if your crashes are caused by mods, but I'd suggest you check the savegame file size. If it's over 16 mb, could be savegame bloating. Had the same problems with my main character around level 53. -_-

Good point!

And after re-reading his problems, it sounds lie he CTD whenever he tries to enter a building.

When my save games in Oblivion got too big the same thing would happen to me.

Just checked just now, my save file is 17.5 mb,

then... maybe it is caused by savegame bloating...

is there any solution to that?

or am i forced to accept that with a well developed character, the Skyrim world is going to decay?

Well, wrye bash fixed it for Oblivion, but I don't know if there's anything similar for Skyrim yet. I restarted the game and I'm trying to pick up all the junk that corpses leave around (dropped weapons and piles of dust never disappear). I'll also try to save my main character cleaning the places he's already been to. ^^; As soon as Steam allows me to do it, because today it apparently decided I don't need to play and won't start the game. -_-

That's pretty much the problem right now, it stems from more and more clutter in the game,

someone has made a mod for it, kind of like Kuertee's Clean-Up, to keep your save file from blowing up.

It's here, give it a try,but you may have to start a new game for it to work :/

You've got the right idea!

The mod link I posted above should help you out to.

I'm going to give it a try, because I tend not to loot weapons and armor etc, I didn't realize they helped blow up my game. :/
