Do I need to Uninstall mods before using Nexus?

Hi ppl, sorry I am completely new to mods so bear with me if this seems like a stupid question!

 

I have about 4 mods currently loaded into Fallout 4 using the in-game loader but there seems to be not that many mods available through this method of loading? So I've realise that the Nexus Mod Manager is probably the way to go go but before I install it I was wondering whether I have to uninstall my previous mods or it doesn't really matter? Will there be issues if I just start using NMM to load and manage Mods?

no you'll be fine, but it'd be easier long term to use only one manager.

If i do uninstall the few mods I do currently have loaded, will I lose the items I have placed down? I think there are different vault rooms and. sorry for the extra question ;)

The mods you've installed right now will probably be available on the Nexus too, so, first search around for them, then download the lot, uninstall through the in-game manager and then re-install through NMM.

 

And yes, uninstalling mods will make you lose whatever those mods add or what you've built with them; but not of course when re-installingthem again ;)
