False "save corruption" during gameplay

Yeah, I noticed that you had it in your list of suspects. I didn't try to remove it before, so it's interesting to see if anyone else tried.

I'm out of actual ideas, to be honest, and a bit tired of being afraid to simply add a good, well known mod to my game.

Yep, I'm gonna agree. After first 3-4 load orders we could isolate single mod causing this, but it didn't happen.
I wonder, if there is a better place for this thread? It's now the biggest and most active thread in this forum section and yet it only attracts players who have the problem. It doesn't look like we're going to get actual help.
Is there any way to make it visible to, you know, actual modders? It is a new SSE modding problem, it seems, and it's not something we can solve at our end.

It looks like the cause of our bug is probably not stemming from an individual mod but from a common cause. Dialogues not appearing and empty message boxes are too broad to be clues to me and hard to find what the actual isolated cause is. If the cause is a single mod and its easily reproducible then I could probably do a binary search and at least get a glimpse of the whole picture but this isn't the case in this specific situation. Me, I published a SSEEdit script mod called "fix water flow", posted a bug fix that works for a lot of people for one of town overhaul mods, suggested a compatibility patch for another popular mod which is included in the latest version but this bug is really difficult to trigger it in a reliable manner and that's really frustrating to me.

Another possibly-silly question: is anyone reading this who has *not*, at some point, ported a mod over from Oldrim by unpacking the BSA to loose files, or installed a mod that has been so ported? I know some of you have done a clean install from scratch, so maybe I'm on the wrong track altogether, but I had a look in my Data file the other day and there are lots of scripts and things left over from mods which I have uninstalled, like Become Jarl of Ivarstead. Obviously NMM didn't know to get rid of them when it did its uninstall thing, and I don't fancy messing about in there manually in case I delete something vital. Who ever thought "tif12345678" was a good, informative name for a script?

I'm thinking about things persisting. I know that Skyrim puts odd little files all over the place, in little caches in Documents and AppData and possibly even in the Windows directories. Do they all get purged when you uninstall the game, or do they hang on to cause problems with your new installation?

Probably just rambling aimlessly, but I don't know how else I can usefully contribute...

I had a complete new install also i got rid of everything its not leftover stuff .

Even with all mods installed it was happening when i activated my suspects on the new install.

I would love to blame the 1.3 patch but then lots of people would have this stuff happening.

But i did play to that point with most of my suspects and i also build the scarlett and silverstead without the fake corruption happening.

But i simply also do not know what did cause this and may cause it again so i cant add new mods or port some myself.

Im at 35 hours now still no corruption and the magic stuff has settled down its sometime lighting issues but i can live with that.

In my current game corruption happened three times in 20 hours of play. Each time it happened either after a quite prolonged crafting session (i have Immersive Jewelry, Immersive Armors and a number of other equipment mods, so I circled through a hundreds of items during each session) or after a long game session in general. After each glitch I either resumed the game from the save before the glitch happened or used a Resaver to make a copy of my save. For some reason this method seems to make a game a bit more stable.

It feels like a poorly masked CTD, really. Game does something very wrong, but instead of crushing it tries to continue as if nothing had happened.

Well the scarlett, blackthorn, silverstead aswell as the windstad mine and heljarchen farm are all involved with crafting.

But that makes not really much sense since they had there own craftingbenches. But it got corrupted when i tried to build silverstead.

I have also quite a few crafting mods but barely did anything this game with it.

So could be crafting related or not since it was happening last install also when standing around doing nothing.
