AishaLove
Fallout 4's hud and UI look like alpha placeholders. I have seen plenty of mods that re arrange the ui and hud elements but why has no one made a mod that gives Fallout 4 a real UI? I was hoping someone could use the new HUDFramework http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20309/? to reskin fallout 4's hud to look like fallout 3's hud. I think this is something Fallout 4 has really been lacking. I don't think the placement of the elements needs matching and if it's a skin it should be compatible with other UI mods. http://img.techpowerup.org/081031/Fallout3%202008-10-30%2023-52-59-56.jpg Edited December 25, 2016 by AishaLove
chucksteel
The UI is all done in Adobe Flash it's extremely complicated to edit and the simple fact is that not a lot of people know enough about it to change the HUD. You can get Def UI which will allow you to customize your hud to your liking but that is about the best UI mod available.
AishaLove
I was just hoping that HUDF could be used to apply a skin to the UI. I don't like DEF_UI because it's soo complicated and my luck with complex mods is that thy never work and always cause more issues in my load order.DEF_U doesn't skin the hud, it moves it around. Messing with the .SWF files to move things and make new hud elements is hard but I don't see changing the graphics used in the file as being too difficult. I still hope someone tackles this, Fallout 4 needs a UI that looks like it's finished and polished.
chucksteel
If you don't see it being to difficult then maybe you should just do it! It's a lot more complicated then you happen to think.
AGreatWeight
Looked into it (earlier in the year) and then realized that there was no way I was gonna take the time to learn flash just to alter the u.i. and main menu interface.Haven't looked at an .swf file since, and happier for it.
