Looking better

Hello everyone !

First of all, I want to say that I'm sorry to post this, I know for a fact that the questions have been answered probably several times before, but since I'm really new to this, I would like to have some proper and simple explanation.

I'm trying to mod my Oblivion (obiously ^^), and I did succeed for a few mods out there, but failed miserably for some others, and I know that there are other mods that I would like to add, but can't find them...

So far this is what I have and what work good :

- Cute Elves v1.2.2 (my character is a female Cute Elf)

- HGEC Body Replacer v1.21

- Rens Beauty Pack

- Let be there Darkness v1.2

- Archery Rebalanced v1.0

- Character Overhaul 2 v1.0

- Crowded Cities v1.0

- Keychain v5.0

- Object Renamer v1.0

- Oblivion XP v4.3.2

- And some mods for Armors and Weapons (like Tona's Store, Archer Shop...)

I'm using :

- OBMM v1.1.12.0

- OBSE v0021

- Blockhead v10.3

- 4GB Ram Patcher

- MenuQue v16b

- Oblivion Stutter Remover v4.1

My laptop is good enough to run some mods for better graphics, but I don't know which ones I should pick from (Better Cities, Natural Environment...)

Also there are a few things that I want to change, but for some unknown reasons, it does not work....

Not working :

- Deadly Reflex

- Any mods that enhance the textures of bodies for HGEC

- DarNfied UI

So my questions are :

- How comes those 3 mods don't work ?

- Which mods should I use for better environment graphics ?

- I want to alter the NPCs and so far I only manage to do it with Character Overhaul 2. I would like them to wear other clothings, armors, I saw a mod about capes too

- I also would like to alter the way the NPCs move and stand idle, with new bodies (like the one my character uses HGEC)

- Last thing, why can't I mod better textures for my Cute Elf ? High Rez Textures does not work...

Here are my laptop specs :

Toshiba

Windows 7

Intel® Core i5 CPU M 460 @2.53GHz

RAM : 4.00 GO

64 Bits

Thank you so much for reading, if you answer me, can you please be VERY specific (I'm really new to this T^T) and tell me step by step ?

Also, I know that some mods must be installed in a certain order because some files must overwrite others, but I have no idea of the correct orders....

Sorry for my english, this is not my main language, I hope everything is still understandable.

xoxo

My first question is related to your last thing, but applies to your entire post ... how are you trying to install these mods/have you installed those you succeeded with?

Hi, I'm here to answer your questions about the animations.

- I also would like to alter the way the NPCs move and stand idle, with new bodies (like the one my character uses HGEC)

First off, all animation mods should work with any body.

And now, here are a list of animation mods I recommend. You should mix them around to your liking.

Kaizits New Animations for NPCs and Player: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45197/?

This adds new idle animations. Such as counting gold.

Personality Idles - Modified Version: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/30829/?

Even more idles! Mostly for reactions and dialogue.

AFK_PrayerIdles: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/29038/?

And more idles! This applies to priests, religious folk, etc.

Natural Walk: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/31240/?

This improves the walking and running animations.

Animation Replacer Pack: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/21475/?

This contains idles and movement animations.

The Bouncy Jump Project: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/37177/?

This is an improvement of the jumping animations

Sky Dive Jump: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/30601/?

This only changes the jumploop.kf Replace The Bouncy Jump Project's jumploop.kf files with this if you prefer it.

DMC Stylish: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/16459/?

Completely reanimated one-handed and two-handed animations.

KAGEMUSHA 2hand Animation Replacer: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/33963/?

Contains some good alternative animations to DMC Stylish. Remember, mix and match however you like.

tbsk Improved Hand to Hand Animation: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45299/?

Completely reanimated hand to hand animations.

Get Up Animation Replacer: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/15336/?

Reanimated the animation that plays when you get back up from being knocked down.

Oblivion FPV Reanimated: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/25138/?

Renimated FPV (First Person View). This resembles Skyrim's 1st person animations. Funny thing is, this was made before Skyrim came out.

Umpa Dance Animation: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/14574/?

Dancing animations! And some extras.

Sephs True Acrobatics: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/14948/?

Competely reanimated dodging.

Random Stagger Recoil Animation Add-ons: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/26383/?

This completely reanimates stagger and recoil. I highly recommend that you only use the recoil animations.

Backstab: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/10662/?

This revamps the one-handed sneak attack animation in 1st person to a more lethal looking stab.

Piercing Sneak Attack: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/32601/?

This is the third person version of Backstab. You should download both of them.

These are the best animation mods I could find that are more unisex friendly, and not too ridiculous. Hope that helps!

Hi there, thanks for the answers !

UPDATE : I succeed to make these mods work propely (all by myself, victory danse) !!

- High Rez Texture.

- DarNfied UI.

My first question is related to your last thing, but applies to your entire post ... how are you trying to install these mods/have you installed those you succeeded with?

Well... I use OBMM and OBSE and yes I did install some mods that are working perfectly fine. The ones not working, I have issue with OBMM saying that some mods conflict with others OR they just don't work. They are installed but nothing change within the game.

@Nightflash :

Thanks for your detailed answer ! I just checked them out and some look really nice !

I think I will go with Personality Idle and Natural Walk, I hope they will go well with one another though lol.

Another question that just popped up in my head this morning :

- Is there a Seamless mod that would work with my other mods ? I'm using HGEC Body with BBB v1.12 and High Rez Skin Textures for HGEC 2048x2048 v1.2. My character is a Mystic Elf (from Rens Beauty Pack, yes I changed...) and the difference between the textures of her face and body is horrible...

Thanks again guys ! You're the best !!

Hi LFact,

For head/body seams:

Replace head meshes: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/44360 (Although you can ignore blockhead)

Replace body meshes and vanilla clothing/armor replacers: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45858

http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45864

Yes I used the second one and this is way better, still a small difference but I've seen that it is very hard to actually get rid of it.

UPDATE : I finally made it !! Everything is alright, and I even added more mods

- Silver Ranger Stance

- Stylish Jump

- Creature Diversity

- Better Dungeons

- Crowded Cities

- and some others !

On the other hand, I was wondering if you guys knew a mod about eyes ?

I'm using Rens Beauty Pack, so I have his custom hair and custom eyes, but I would like better eyes for my Mystic Elf.

I just tried "Elaborate Eyes" since they say it works with Rens Beauty Pack... but I must be be a bit dumb because even after reading the Read Me file... I couldn't make it work.

Any other suggestions ?

Thanks bunches !!

xoxo

Hello again!

Try this mod for eyes

Lifelike Eye Normal Maps: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/47467/?

It's a new mod released 2 days ago that works for OCOv2 (Oblivion Character Overhaul) and Vanilla races.

This might actually be the only eye retexture I've seen besides what's included in OCO.

As an extra, here's a retexture for the mouth and teeth.

Detailed Mouth for OCOv2: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/47463/?

This is also a new mod released 3 days ago. In fact, it's by the same author.

Similar to the eye retexture mod, this may be one of the only mouth and teeth retexture mods out there besides what's included in OCO.

Hope that helps!

1. You need to replace head meshes as well, and use well-matching textures(body texture alone cannot eliminate head/body seams, but they are helping when you use seam mended meshes and .egt files).

2. I've never tried elaborate eyes with Ren's Beauty pack. Yeah, they can work together for EE do not touch custom race eyes(Note vanilla eye, EE and Ren's eye meshes use different UV mapping, so you cannot use EE texture on Ren's elves). Some other modders(including me) added more assets and races to make cosmetic packs(such as Beautiful People and derived works like Modular Beautiful People), you can start there if you know how to resolve eye mesh-texture incompatibility problem aka 'googly-eyes' or any other issues.(I do not recommend you to use my compilations unless you know how to install mod manually)

Hello Nightflash7 !

Thanks for the mods ! I used the first one and all my NPCs have really nice eyes now :3

Hello LFact !

Oh so EE and Rens Beauty Pack don't work together... now I feel stupid to even try lol. I do know how to install manually mods, in fact, I installed most of my mods manually, but I'm no mod creator, all I do is using mod ^.^'

I guess I will post something here in the mod requests section if someone is willing to either create an eye mod compatible with Rens Beauy Pack, or a mod that alters Rens's eyes.

Thank you guys for the attention <3
