Purr4me
The version your running was optimized for Skyrim applications.I believe on the description pages on all sites it's hosted on tells you My version is best suited for this game. You DO NOT need to reinstall all your mods for different versions, all you need to do is place the current mod folder on the root of a drive, open the Gear icon check the box under advanced and select where your nod directory will be...it's set up this way for ease but it's not glued down. Mo will remember where the mods are at. all mod Organizers can do this, you have a single install directory for all mods and can choose versions of you you wish. Ok, why would some one do this? becasue some versions are different in how they respond with asset managements. Mostly the way Binary interaction are dealt with. I use 2.3.4 for custom modding. all my organizers point to a single used source directory. I have yet one so large, it might take Mo upwards of a 1/2 an hour to load. Yeah, that's a lot of potato's. um..your not going to find any one here as dynamic as I appear to be. I really love tech things, I dig deep. Purr4me
Ok, more in-depth explanation.say, you decide you want a new game..right? and you don't want to remove the mods you have.well, if you rename the current Mod folder to any name, the files will remain intact, and you make a fresh "Mod" folder on the root.when you launch Mo...it will be empty.install away ! Mo, will use any name you point that mod source too. it does not need to be "Mod" as a folder name.Imagine now how many mods you might end up with. another cool thing is, you can drag and drop any mod applications from one folder to another and not need to be downloading them all over again. EDIT: To Enhance what M48A5 has said bellow here (E:\1Valve Resources\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty) that is my source and I have a few other steam installs to that relate to this aspect of the operating systems tireless interference.(E:\Steamusb\steamapps\common\Fallout 4)(E:\Bethesda.net Launcher\games) which contains the game and this program launches steam immediately so it can connect, Isolated modding.(C:\Fallout 4 Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas)you will never see me install to an (x86) control folder. Some games from steam don't even install in common file folders too. But, their requirements do. Imagine Android cross overs and now VR's ? Old windows tricks we already know about. Listen and do it. M48A5
You have a problem with your initial installation of Fallout3: E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty\. FWE requires FOSE in order to function properly. FOSE cannot run in a game installed in "Program Files". You need to move the game out of "Program Files" to a location not governed by Windows User Access Control. I don't have Steam and cannot help you with this. As for FOMM and the Template, I have downloaded both from your links and I will take a look at it. I have never used it before ( For obvious reasons. ) but I will take a look at it, it should not be more difficult to use then MO I guess. But later this evening I am first going to try and see if I did everything right this time. You have a problem with your initial installation of Fallout3: E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 3 goty\. Also it is on my E drive and Windows 8.1 is on my C drive, and UAC has never given me trouble with any steam game. Does not mean that I do not appreciate the advice, do not get me wrong on that. But should it start causing problems in the future for whatever reason ... can I then simply cut and paste steam and all its games to the root of E drive? Or would it be better to reinstall Steam and all the games. Please tell me I can at that time simply use the cut and paste method? ( And then link all desktop links and such to the new location. ) Because having to reinstall nearly a 193 GB of steam and the games I play regularly, is not a fun thing to look forward to. As for FOSE, it works. :) http://imgur.com/fRqsMKD Edited January 1, 2017 by Illius
Purr4me
To move steam using that method, you need to install steam first else where first. Then overwrite it with the Move command not copy and paste...Steam on launch at that point will update it's self to the new registry settings of that new location. I usually install Steam to either a 32gig USB Toshiba drive for just one game and later copy it to a new steam folder labeled to reflect where it came from.My flash drives are labeled before I do any thing at all to them so the windows system will recognize the installed software. Steam just update the Letter of the drive this way ,quick down and dirty. what's important to keep ion mind is there can't be anything yet installed other than steam...Just steam.steam does not make nor create a common folder until it updates. when I need to view my content online without steam getting in the middle of things, that's what I do. Don't ever cut and past large data packs that way, you will allow windows to corrupt the files. "Move"
