62firelight
It was dark already, and I literally stumbled on a group of Forsworn. Four of them. But... they just stood there. I came closer. They stood still. "WTH?!" I thought. Then I remembered my encounters with some bandits disguising as Imperial (and once Stormcloak) soldiers, and came closer to check. No. They were Forsworn. One Looter, one Pillager and two simple Forsworn. Feeling bizzare I activated one of them. There was no dialogue, but he told me "What do you want?" Others told "Yes?", "Hello" and one girl even told me "You're looking sick. Are you not well?" I unsheathed my sword. No reaction. I killed one of them (Pillager) with one critical strike (I was lucky). Others started to cry "Hey, what are you doing?!" But still they did not attack me! Well, I've made a save when I was standing before them. I loaded it. And went to that mine with "right" bloodthirsty Forsworn leaving that four mysterious guys behind. I had a similar experience when I was sent by the Orc Guy in the College of Winterhold to recieve a book from a Forsworn lair. So I head over there and I just realized it was the same dungeon I've been sent to from the previous quest I was sent on. I grab the book from the end chest and decide to talk to the friendly Forsworn (yes, that includes Madanach since I allowed him to live during the quest.) They said this line that unsurprisingly got boring after the first time, every single one of these Forsworn said it including Madanach. So I saved and killed one of the Forsworn. Of course the others attacked me, Jenassa and J'zargo acted as tanks while I had the satisfaction of killing Madanach. Then I scurried my ass to the College and returned the book to the orc. sheepskin
Traversing across The Rift with my Orc, I happen to come across a noble-man, his wife, and their personal guard on their way to a wedding. The noble-man comes off as quite kind and the guard indifferent. The wife is rather abrasive though, and decides to hurl racial slurs and insult my presence. Succumbing to rage, I slay her where she stood. The guard quickly reacts only to fall just as quickly. I regret killing the noble-man, but there could be no witnesses. The gifts they were carrying would have garnered the utmost appreciation from the newly weds. Edited June 1, 2012 by sheepskin
landy8
To sheepskin:Poor guys! I helped them to fight some bandits once. But I was an Altmer sorceress that time, so that woman had no insults for me. To 62firelight:Once I had even more weird experience.I've cleared some Forsworn base. Then I've returned to that very base later doing Urag's quest (Urag is the name of that old Orc you mentioned). Imagine my surprise when I saw Forsworn fighting Forsworn! Both were Forsworn from that base (I recalled their numbers and approximate locations). So it wasn't something like Goblin wars in Oblivion. The Forsworn from that base just respawned and started to fight! It seems there were two sides (guys from each side supporting it and fighting guys from the other side). fraquar
Escape from Cidna Mine where you have to kill Grisvar. My Khajiit punched him one time and knocked his health down to next to nothing, the second punch he ended up doing a belly to belly suplex killmove. Never seen that before but it was hilarious. Stemin
Traversing across The Rift with my Orc, I happen to come across a noble-man, his wife, and their personal guard on their way to a wedding. The gifts they were carrying would have garnered the utmost appreciation from the newly weds. Hm. Seen the nobleman before. Never seen a wife. Have to keep an eye out for that one. I'm 1100 hours in and still finding new things. Not related: I ran into some Vigilant's of Stendarr today walking from snapleg cave to windhelm. The best encounters always happen when you're not fast traveling. So they give me the speech about no mercy to daedra worshipers, while I'm standing there in my full daedric armor. Then we run into a bear and I summon a daedra (flame) atronach. Still no reaction. I decide to walk slow enough that they can sortof follow along. We ran into a troll another bear, and a frostbite spider. The Vigilants had no problem taking them on. We passed some stormcloaks. No interactions from either party aside from them talking to me. So then we run into a sabercat. I decided to deliberately stay out of it because I wanted the Vigilante's loot. So I summon a flame atronach and stand back. The Vigilantes again rush in with no hesitation. One dies. I loot the corpse. Continue along. And I run into a skooma dealer... an orc. While I'm talking to her, an orc bandit attacks me. Kinda weird because she had an ebony warhammer which I've never seen on an NPC outside of a Draugr Deathlord and also because bandits don't usually show up alone. So I start fighting both of them, the skooma dealer and the bandit, only I'm trying to level up my conjuration so I'm still summoning atronach's and just kinda dodging around. I reason that the other Vigilante must have died. I cast Detect Dead, and I don' t see anything. Then I turn around and spot the Vigilante hiding behind a tree. I deliberately lead the two aggressors towards the Vigilante and he/she runs away! So at this point I just pulled out my greatsword and killed them both since my atronach's couldn't handle an ebony warhammer. I see something dart across the hot springs to my left and walk out to investigate. I couldn't find anything so I return to the road. At this point the stormcloaks come walking down the hill. I kinda rolled my eyes at their timing. So I stand there waiting to see if the Vigilante's AI continued to send him/her towards Windhelm and nothing. So I give up and start heading down the road. I see a figure off in the distance. The Vigilante is 200 yards ahead of me, heading down the road like nothing happened. I think I'll keep following. They're definitely finicky with their courage. Btw, an idea occurred to me when I was looting the one Vigilante who died. He/she had a steel mace and the usual outfit. I've seen people complain there's no Paladin's in this game, but that's exactly what the Vigilante of Stendarr faction is. It's the extremity of good. Bethesda's version of a Paladin. landy8
Just visited Yngol Barrow. Again. Visit it with every character. It's definitely one of my favourite places in Skyrim! All that glowing balls jumping around with weird sounds! Still remember my first impression (like Fox Mulder, you should see it!). All that way through the dungeon ready for some enemy to show up, and when you finally relax - here he is! Yngol! Oh, and I like his helm. It's always on a head of some mannequin in my main house! thompsonar
Not really an "in game" event but I just recently used the deadly dragon configuration thingy to make all npcs and animals much harder and have since been getting my butt kicked. So I'm very cautious now as most things kill my unarmored mage in one or two hits. So I was exploring some ruin the other day taking it nice and slow. I was grabbing a few potions off a shelf when I hear a noise and get attacked from behind. I completely jump out of my seat, dropped my mouse on the floor and spilled beer on myself. I get myself back together and spin around to see it was a stupid skeever. Kinda had to be there I guess (but I'm glad no one else was there to see me). I've had a couple moments like this but since really turning up the difficulty it seems I'm much more susceptible to having the crap scared out of me by the game. The sounds of Skyrim mods are helping as well, some of those sounds creep me out man.
greateraces
Once upon a time. The End Here is what happened between those two points in time the great An-qwei (my Argonian) was travelling from Riften to Solitude to join the legion after getting so hammered he couldn't see the group of bears, trolls and that one dragon chasing him. When HE did notice he took them out one on one with his pet dog, and companion he hired in The Bee And Barb. After his long and hectic fight he sat down and had a sweetroll before he set off again he got into his pj's and caught some shut eye. The next day was just as boring when he found a giand fighting an Elder Dragon, who in turn was fighting Vilkas and a dead bandit. After Helping out and attacking Vilkas by mistake He ran towards Rorikstead only a few hours away.Upon his Entry to the quaint little village... A NAKED COURIER RAN UP AND GAVE HIM A LETTER.Then with his trip coming to an end Naked Courier and all and his arrival in Solitude... He went straight to the pub to fill up on spiced wine and finish the last of his Honningbrew and BlackBriar meads he fell aslepp to wake up to roughly seven gaurds attacking him on what was said as harrasment to a naked courier and assault to Vilkas Fetch-that-bone. He went to jail an that is the end of his tale and his gold and to his good standing in the drinkers guild of Argonian Concubines with letters on their backs.?! landy8
To greateraces: Well, I've seen different couriers... Most memorable was a courier that caught me up in Blackreach! I was sneaking closer to some Falmer to have a better shot when I heared that voice from behind "Hey, I've got a message for you! Let's see here..." Needless to say I jumped with my chair. But NAKED?!.. o_O
kibblesticks
On this playthrough I was playing with the excellent "tales of lycanthropy"/ "bigger badder werewolves"/ "frostfall; hypothermia"/ "darker nights"/ and "Sounds of Skyrim-Wilderness" mods activated. It was a clear evening in Solitude and the sun was just beggining to set, tainting the buildings in magnificent red and orange hues. I had just sold a fistful of treasure from my latest tomb raiding excursion and so I was in a pretty happy mood. I decided I would begin making my way south, and pitch my tent when it got dark, rather than spend my hard earned gold at the Solitude inn. This would prove to be a big mistake. Outside the city gates I mounted my horse and set off down the road. The sun had almost set and the darkness was encroaching faster than I'd anticipated. Unconcerned, I ventured on. I rode for a fair while, until Solitude was far behind me. It was pitch black now, but fortunately as a Khajiit I had excellent night vision. Despite this though, I decided to pitch my tent and start a fire, as it was also getting cold. It was then I heard a howl in the distance. Taking a quick glance at the moon I realised it was full. However, I knew the sounds of Skyrim's wilderness often featured howls and I put it out of my mind. I dismounted and set about pitching my tent. I was just about to light my fire when I heard a faint shuffle a few yards behind me. Turning with mild interest, I saw a giant werewolf standing over the dead carcass of my horse. Terror instantly took me, and I found myself running for my life through the woods, pursued by the beast. I had no idea which direction I was heading in (disable-map and compass mod), only that if I slowed down the monster would tear me limb from limb. After a few near misses and a lot of running, I spied a mill in the distance. I sprinted as fast as I could toward the door, only to find it locked. I turned to see the wolf hadn't given up the chase and was closing fast. Drawing my warhammer I smashed open the lock (smash locks mod) and ducked inside the house. The werewolf seemed reluctant to enter the building and I stayed there for nearly an hour before falling asleep. When I awoke I poked my head out the door cautiously, but there was no sign of the beast. Scariest Skyrim moment so far. Big thanks to all the mod makers whose excellent efforts allowed such a vivid and cinematic experience! Just to add to the story a bit; later, when checking my effects, I realised I had contracted the werewolf disease. It must have scratched me when I was being chased and I didn't even notice as I was so desperate to get away. Great fun =]
