What would you like to see changed?

As the title says, what one thing would you like to see changed or added the most?

Anything glaringly wrong with the game that should be fixed?

What would you like to changed or added in each of the factions?

Of particular note, what would you like to see changed or added to the Railroad or Institute?

I'm using this as an idea thread, not for the little requests that normally go here but for enhancing and expanding the game and making it meatier.

I'd really like to see the Railroad as an "active" player in the Commonwealth. When you advance the Minutemen quest line, you end up with roaming bands of ... ahem ... Civilian Soldiers, generally doing derrings and depressing the oppressed and such.

I know the Railroad is a "covert" organization, but I'd really like to see maybe an RR Agent with a "few slices of salami short of a sandwich" Synth in tow, (like the one we have to escort to Ticonderoga or whatever it's called) heading for a "safe house"

We even get to set up a "safe house" for the RR, but I've never seen a reclamated Synth stop by for drinks or just to say thankyou ... nothing.

And the "heavies" <groan> or the agents that can actually last more than 2 seconds against a Rad Roach, We see none of them in the Crypts, but, egad, there are a SHITE tonne of them playing the part of "redshirts" and or "stormtroopers" (who couldn't hit the side of a Death Star ... with another Death Star!) when the quest script says so, So where TF have they been all that time???

I like the RR, but jeez Louise they are Booooorrrring after a few missions.

The Institute would be a big job for my idea (and probably other people). I'd like to be able to take the Institute into the benevolent domain. After you become the new Director, (optionally) take the technology out into the wasteland - New crops for farms with greater yields, New "health and welfare" clinics, Gen 1 and 2 Synths as "farm hands" or workers/guards (replace/add to turrets or robots as base defenses) New power and water supply systems etc, and actually 'see' them appear randomly ... Even the "Synth" animals like the Gorilla's, and maybe a few others (Lions and tigers and bears oh my) as settlement "pets" or just wandering the wasteland.

Come to think of it, there really should be more critters like Mountain Lion's, Coyote's, Raccoon's, 'coz we have dogs, cat's and rats so ... (Lol, now I'm imagining GotG, a bad tempered "mutated" Racoon running around cussing out people, and shooting anything that moves :) )

My only issue with the Institute was that they were, well, essentially useless. A bunch of bumbling scientists gawking over synthetic gorillas and what not while still having subpar everything (except for a clean living area, although I did find piles of leaves down there). I'm still mad they discontinued food supplement 77! But seriously, apart from the coursers, the big bad of the game was more like Dr. Evil snivelling in the basement saying "Curses, surface dwellers!". Maybe having them restart the cybernetics program, drop Gen 3 synths and only use Gen 1 or 2's, have smaller but better weaponry, and have other genetically engineered food for the surface.

I like the idea of the health and welfare clinic. What could be done to make the vanilla doctor and med stand system better?

What's the coyote rattlesnake from New Vegas? Nightstalker or something?

You could have critters like that, cazadors, and geckos as well. Not that anyone liked cazadors!

Ohhh, lordy lordy! Now you've gone an done it!

I'd put out of my mind how much I LOVED! Old World Blues, and how they tied up sooo many loose ends, and filled in sooo many plot gaps and so much lore. Nightkin, NightStalkers (yep, that's the Coyote/Snake cross thing), Cazadorres, Spore Fiends, The Tree in Oasis (George, Fred, Kevin whatever his/it's name was) it even explains the plant spores you find in Vault Tec to the Stars (or whatever) in Nuka World, as that came from Big MT, so much technology I can't remember it all off hand.

Would love to see a Big MT type mod for FO4 that uses the Institute instead. Let's be honest, they couldn't have developed all that technology themselves, they must have had "some" help from those left in the wasteland, and also, there would have to have been some cross contamination of technology, even if it's just a dead/deactivated Gen 1 that a smart wastelander finds and partially reverse engineered.

And their weapons are FUGLY and all but useless, they should be at least the equal of a Plasma Pistol (or even the alien blaster), but instead they can barely match a Pipe Pistol. And to me they just look like cardboard milk cartons, all the aesthetic appeal of 3 week old dog turd.

And where are the female Gen 2.5's (like Nick) and 3's (female coursers?) ? And why aren't they all (male and female) way sexier? Human nature is human nature, and if someone was gonna create a humanoid robot they'd make it "sexy", deny it all you want but you know it's true :)

As to the Health And Welfare Clinics, I was kinda thinking that in the current game, if you continue the game after you nuke the Institute (or don't) your chosen faction takes over the old Military Checkpoints, so why not have "First Aid Stations, at those with a "medic" and maybe re-purpose all the old Red Rockets and/or Drumlin Diners in the wasteland to be "Clinics"? Let's use the technology (limited as it is) that the Institute has to "clean up" and revitalize Humanity in the Commonwealth - Wouldn't that actually fulfill there primary goals?

Instead of filling up on fuel, fill up on Rad-X, Rad-Away and first aid, plus a meal and purified water! Come on down to your nearest Red Rocket today!

I was thinking that as the Director, when you make the decision to concentrate on Advanced Systems, it could trigger replacing all Institute weapons with plasma weaponry as that would make sense.

Well, as long as you change Bugthesda's stooooopid idea of making the Plasma Projectile a "missile" ?!?!? Gah, that was one of the first mods I attempted. (for myself) Couldn't stand the fact that my Plasma Sniper Rifle was all but useless, because anyone I shot at from a distance, had time for a Beer and a Cigarette, and could still dodge the shot!

Anyway, definetly ob the same page with you about making the Institute a "playah" in 'da Commonwealth :) Might actually make Survival Mode playthrough's less of a chore and actually incentivize siding with the Institute as well.

I'd like to be able to NOT nuke the Institute with the Brotherhood, and instead storm the place (RR/MM style?), executing anyone that resists and making a new Brotherhood stronghold. The Glow, without the glow.

I mean, the Brotherhood is all about hoarding tech (either for the greater good or because they're dicks, ymmv) and advancing their own tech. Prydwen? Vertibirds? Power Armor? Hell, in FO4 they had cybernetics on Star Paladin Cross. What happened to that?

Whatever. Build Proctor Ingram some new legs, get that gun nut scientist to stick plasma weapons on the vertibirds, shock troop Gen1 synths. Ad Victoriam.

(But, it would be a massive undertaking.)
