AlphaWoIF
This is probably very simple but so am i ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVKN3fcUHR0i followed this tutorial as i have never imported a sword before but the big problem i am having is no matter weather i export my sword to nilf or obj whenever i open it with nilskope its always 2 parts, one being the blade & pommel the other the grip, but i still followed the instructions and all that shows in game is the grip ive tired countless things but cant fix it :( everything is working fine and and looks great in nilfskope is there a way to join 2 trishapes in to one trishape as i think i may solve it. & anyone know why nilfskope sees these as separate objects eventhough they are exported to ojb as one. http://i42.tinypic.com/34zx9mp.png Edited January 10, 2012 by AlphaWoIF
Werne
You have the grip as a separate object, I'm afraid you'll have to join them into a single object in your 3D modeling program, if you're using Blender select the parts in Object Mode and click Ctrl+J. AlphaWoIF
thats not the case im using 3dsmax and its a single mesh just breaks in to 2 when opend or imported with nilfskope just to prove ithttp://i42.tinypic.com/24xgcx2.png Edited January 10, 2012 by AlphaWoIF
Ghogiel
Make sure the mesh only has 1 material ID.if you have 2 different materials then the exporter will split the mesh into 2 separate mesh objects according to the material IDs.
AlphaWoIF
Doh!,Thanks for jogging my memory Ghogiel :)))) i mentaly kicked my self as soon as i read your reply as i knew what step i had missed that i normally always do prior to export which is setting Mat ID'S to 1 as max has a way of setting them to 2 by default on MOST imported items. It seems the more i learn the more i forget, its now a complete sword in skope should be easy to redo now :)))))))))---------------------------------------------------------------------update ! well its working but i a bit buggy as it wasn't @ first , it was same problem until i entered an new instance then room was not drawn properly and game crashed .but after it was working but then gave me an instant crashes to desktop when i sheathed the sword then it was all good again on reload until i tried to attack someone with it fell out of game again ?.very strange behaviour Edited January 10, 2012 by AlphaWoIF
