Skizzy123
I have a decently modded Skyrim and using NMM. I would like to upgrade to SSE but am not sure what to do with NMM in order to port over a copy of a saved vanilla game. I seem to recall a tutorial a while back on how to create a vanilla setup in NMM without losing the modded setup/load order. That way I can play both my modded 32-bit Skyrim and then switch over to 64-bit. I have a level 40 character right now I'd like to continue to play in SSE. I believe I do something in the "profiles" tab but not completely sure. Should I download SSE first and then set up NMM? I'm just a bit lost. Again, I thought I saw a great tutorial....should have bookmarked it  . Thanks
L3s7ing
Skyrim SE is a separate game. So you would just need to rescan your games after installing Skyrim SE and nmm would recognize it. So all Skyrim and Skyrim SE files are completely separated and have nothing to do with each other. If you want to port a save, just copy it out of the Skyrim save directory into the Skyrim SE save directory. But be aware that if the save was played on a modded version of skyrim there can be compatibility issues. Regarding creating new profiles in nmm. Yes, if you clock onto the profiles tab in the top you can create a new profile for the selected game without the mods installed in the previous profile. LeddBate
If you want to port a save, just copy it out of the Skyrim save directory into the Skyrim SE save directory. Wait, what? You can do that? I thought the differences between SE and Oldrim made save porting impossible.

So you can't switch the saves from SSE back to Oldrim, once you used them in the newer Version. Edited January 9, 2017 by L3s7ing
LeddBate
Ah. I see. Still dubious though. At the very least I imagine that there would be possible corruption/incompatibility issues. But, since I haven't tried it (yet), I'll search around to see if anyone else is having any luck doing so.
