Bernt
Guess you already tried it. But - have you run your load order through FO4edit? Reinstalling might easily make you overlook that one, tiny esm/esp that another one is dependent on. FO4edit will tell you. Been there - done that - knocekd my head against the wall a few times
snapper69
I had this exact problem last night, after I installed 4 or 5 mods. I was starting it from F4SE 1) I ran it through Loot which didn't work2) Itried starting it from NMM, still didn't work3) I used NMM to disable all my plugins, still didn't work4) I used Steam to verify my files. Success5) I re-enabled (nearly) all of my plug-ins. Still worked.

I also went through FO4edit to check for my plugin errors. There are no errors as far as I am concerned. I will disable all plugins and reinstall my FO4 to see if it works. It is painful work, but it will have to do.
snapper69
Just verify the files in Steam. Right click on Fallout 4, select properties then local content and verify local files. If it finds any errors it will usually fix them. You may not even have to disable the plugins.

I tried to turn my game resolution to 1080p to match the display resolution. Not work. I deleted my reshade. Not work. I tried to reduce both the game and display resolution to 720p. Not work. Why is this so problematic? To all future commenters, I don't have problem with cache verification. I also check my load order carefully so there is no missing or disabled master. The only current problem is black screen with music playing on startup. Please help me with this, but don't include any needless advice.
JimmyRJump
Sounds like the game gets stuck during the load process, resulting in a RAM freeze due to bad RAM allocation... Have you tried ENBoost? It allows a game to use system RAM as V-RAM allowing to use more than 4GB of memory for the game.

Have you tried ENBoost? It allows a game to use system RAM as V-RAM allowing to use more than 4GB of memory for the game. Hey guys, I partially fixed this. I set my fallout4prefs.ini like this iMaxAnisotropy=1iPresentInterval=0bTopMostWindow=0bMaximizeWindow=1bBorderless=1bFull Screen=0iSize H=720iSize W=1280 So I could play the game on 1280x720 resolution. The thing is, it forced me to play on windowed mode. My desktop resolution is 1920x1080. I want to stress the game resolution to fit my screen. But whenever I set bTopMostWindow= and bMaximizeWindow= to 1, the black screen bug returns. What should I do? Did I screw up somewhere, or was it the incorrect setting? Please help. Every insight is helpful.
