I have thrown every weapon spell etc. at him when the sphere is open and nothing!. He can take 50 arrows and still his health is 100%. Is this a bug or am I missing something? Spoilers ahead! When the eye is open, you have to use the Staff of Magnus on the eye itself. Once it's closed, you can beat Ancano down like the dog he is. If you haven't reached this part of the game yet and wish to discover how to beat Ancano on your own, don't read the rest of this post as it will tell you how to defeat him . If you remember , inside of Saarthal when you first discover the Eye of Magnus, the Draugr boss protecting it is invincible untill Tolfdir goes down the stairs and starts casting a spell on the eye. After that , the boss becomes vulnerable. Fighting Ancano is the same concept. Use the staff of magnus on the eye for about 5-10 seconds, can't remember exactly .
