CaprineSun
I mean, would parkour even work in an elder scrolls game? Would it even fit?I think it would. Can you imagine the possibilities? Thievery would ascend to a whole new level of complexity. Assassination would as well, i think. True, maybe parkour would only be "useful" to those few playtypes, but everyone at some point needs to climb over a rock, and the current system means you just jump up and slide back down. I would love to be able to grab onto the edge of something and hoist myself up. Edited January 16, 2017 by o0oNullo0o
CaprineSun
I think parkour has spreaded to enough games already...Honestly why should we not continue to evolve the games we play? Why shouldn't we add more freedom to players? Is there a real reason for not adding parkour?
FrankFamily
Sure, better animations for climbing rocks more naturally and such is always an improvement, i just don't feel like parkour vaults and the like fit. Anothe reason is variety, i've played and really liked both dying light and thief, just don't want every game to end up being the same, elder scrolls should evolve in what it's strong at already. TheMastersSon
I'm not sure what differentiates a parkour game from ES played with a very high Acrobatics. I play with Acrobatics = 400 in Oblivion and it sure looks and feels like parkour. :)
JimboUK
Can you imagine how terrible parkour would be on Bethesda's clunky old engine with it's shocking collision detection?

I just cant help but wish for this feature myself. I think what makes a game a good one are the options for many different types of players to get what they want in that game. It's possible this could "water down" the game, but if it's executed correctly it could be a boon to the franchise. Edit: Just read another post that reminded me of Acrobatics. If they reintroduced that, it could be the gateway to parkour. If players dont really care about or like the parkour element, then they dont need to put points into a section of acrobatics that deals with it. This way, everyone's happy. What are your thoughts on this potential solution? Edited January 17, 2017 by o0oNullo0o

Yea it was really goofy to be able to jump off water and as high as a tree or something, but that layer of character progression was a nice thing to have. I feel like Skyrim was too homogenized honestly. Can you imagine morrowind Mechanics with skyrim graphics? The level of immersion would be stunning. Can you imagine how terrible parkour would be on Bethesda's clunky old engine with it's shocking collision detection? Yea but i'm hoping that they will create a new engine for ES 6. Yolins
Why need parkour when you have a horse? In skyrim horse can even move through parallel dimensions to climb that mountain.
TheVampireDante
It would be a nice addition, as long as it didn't become a required ability to complete anything in game. Just an added background feature that allowed a new approach to situations.

Giving players the choice to play how they wish is paramount in creating the best games, in my opinion. Edit: Typos are lame!
