Hi Folks,

A question or 2 before I start SSE...

Background is I played Skyrim Legendary twice (1-1.5 years ago, and again ending 3-6 months ago)...guess its called 'Oldrim' now...but an uninstall/reinstall of Steam has me think before 3rd go-around...a perfect opportunity to try SSE,right..? :-)

So my questions are:

1. Do I only install SSE in Steam..and NOT my Skyrim Legendary edition also...guessing the answer is yes,but thought I'd ask?

2. Seriously considering Enderal...never played it

IF I am to play Enderal, goes back to question above...install it to play with Skyrim Legendary Edition...or with SSE...and if the latter do I need to have 'Oldrim' as an installed Steam game simultaneouly?

Thanx folks

You can have both games installed at once. The Skyrim: Special Edition is a completely separate game from the original Skyrim. You don't need to have both of them installed for the other to work, but you can if you want to. Enderal is a mod for the original Skyrim, you would install that for the original Skyrim only.

I have yet to play Enderal. I'm planning on stopping my current playthrough of normal Skyrim though and moving on back to the Special Edition, so I might give it a try before I remove Skyrim from my PC entirely. I don't have a super strong PC though - and I'm a little bit worried about how draining Enderal may be.

Enderal is mass effect plotwise. It has a entirely different storyline, different lore, different combat system with a whole new experience point system. It also lightyears ahead in storytelling and how mature the whole story is. Just be prepared to be invested in a good story with a lot of plot twists. Make sure you install the whole thing exactly as it is meant to be by reading the faq. It will only affect the oldrim folder and will not in anyway whatsoever touch SkyrimSE folder. Just be prepare to have CTD happen from time to time because the game will hit the ram limitations from time to time.
