Lachdonin
We don't know if Mede has any sons. If he does, it would be one of them. Otherwise the High Chancelor of the Elder Council would. As for will they take the fight to the Thalmor, thats an even less clear issue. The guy who hires you is, evedently, linked with the Elder Council. He seems to indicate that without Mede, the Empire would be better off, but at the same time seems interested in 'profit', so we don't know fully what that means. Mede is also rather welcoming of his death. He isn't worried in the least, and doesn't even offer a hint of sucession issues. He also alludes to being prepared for this moment. I persoanlly see something of a Jullius Caesar thing going on. The role of the Elder Council has increased since the end of the Septim Dynasty, and its almost a certianty they were involved in the drafting of the White Gold Concordant. I see your employer (I'm too lazy to look up his name... Oh how i miss Morrowind's memorable characters) as someone interested in peace, and the profit of trade, which means his faction would support maintaining the status quo, closer ties to the Domminion and the possibility for trade with them. The Emperor, on the other hand, weak as some argue he is, is a known hater of the Thalmor. I find it hard to beleive that any preperation on his part would involve an heir which would support the Thalmor. I tend to suspect we're on the verge of a larger conflict within the Empire, which will see the ouster of the Elder Council in favor of a stronger Emprorer. Thats complete supposition mind you, based largely on reading intent from admitedly poor voice acting. To summarise, however, we don't know WHO will take over, or if they would take things to the Thalmor again.

Khorak
I usually support the Stormcloaks, but I'd still laugh myself hollow if the death of Titus Mede resulted in some completely unstoppable, utterly convicted bringer of righteous doom stepping out of nowhere and revitalising the Empire in a flurry of nationalistic, facesmashing fervour. Double points would be scored if this total, awesome lunatic resulted in the Dark Brotherhood being horrendously crushed as he/she cheerfully sweeps through Tamriel. Total 'nice job breaking it, a**hole' situation for the DB as they run screaming from the new Emperor with the person who allowed him/her to come to power in the first place. ...obviously I don't like the Dark Brotherhood and their Deus Ex Machina "we kill anyone, easily, as the plot demands" garbage. justwannaddl
Unless Mede had a worthwhile successor, it looks like the Empire will be a chicken with its head cut off for the foreseeable future. Anyone who wants that throne will have to be either crazy or just plain stupid. Personally, I think this is all foreshadowing for a Thalmor based sequel. The Summerset Isles are looking closer and closer nowadays.
chanchan05
Personally I want to see one of the ff: 1.) Empire wins: You start building an Army to duke it out with the Thalmor forts in the empire (mainly the ones in Skyrim I guess, unless they add a patch to extend the map in Cyrodiil to contain more than the Tower). 2.) Stormcloak wins: You raise up an army of Nords and whatever else is in Skyrim who will help and eradicate the Thalmor/imperia; embassies and strongholds, in both Skyrim and Cyrodiil.
