wishbone346
So I ran into this little issue today while bashing some bandit skulls. Seems to be missing textures. http://i.imgur.com/GD3bXwB.jpg I've got a large number of mods installed, many of which required being installed in a specific order. I really, REALLY don't want to go through that again so I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on a less intensive solution to my problem. I've heard verifying the game cache can help, but would that cause issue with my mods? Is there anything else that could cause this? I haven't encountered this issue before, and I also haven't installed any new texture mods that would impact those fixtures. In fact the only mod that even remotely touched any game textures that I've installed in weeks is the newer version of Moonlight Tales.
Urtho
Purple objects are usually a sign of running out of VRAM for the game - this is the amount of memory your video card has installed. Restarting the game should fix this temporarily, a permanent fix would be installing a a video card with more ram or backing off on some of your texture mods or the resolution you play the game at so your current card doesn't get overloaded so quickly. LeddBate
What Urtho said. If your current GPU has only 2GB of VRAM, I recommend you upgrade. The GTX 1070 is currently the best-bang-for-the-buck out there.
thomriis
I'm also having this problem,But never in dungeons or outside for that matter. My purple texture glitch only happens in my player owned castles,i got 3 castles with huge display halls and lot's of weapons and armor displayed + lot's of books on shelves also. It never happens on books,But about every 2nd time i'm entering some of my equipment turns purple,Sometimes it's only a few pieces and other times it's more than that + my game crashes to desktop about 30% of the time. I can only avoid this if i'm disabling high resolution texture pack 2 and 3 + the high resolution texture pack patch before entering. I'm playing with 2 x 980m gpu's in sli,Wer'e talking about 100+ weapons displayed and about 40 mannequins with full sets of armor. Lol. I's this perfectly normal and is there anything i can do to prevent it (Sorry to barge in on the topic like that) Just curious.
