sajuukkhar9000
I am going to go with what Michael Kirkbride said, since he basically made the lore. He says Wulfharth, Ysmir, Hjalti, Talos, Arctus, and Septim were all avatars of Lorkhan then they probably were. Again though, being the Avatar of a god, then ascending to Godhood, does not mean that the first god is back. True, but when 3 avatars of a god merge together, with one of them achieving CHIM, and end p doing exactly what the god before them did, IE holding the universe together so mortals can achieve the Eternal I he is basically the same god. He mantled Lorkhan and became like Lorkhan and Lorkhan became like him to the point that trying to separate the two is futile. Lachdonin
'Basicly' the same with a vastly different temperment. None of his acts since acheiving apothesis match the myths about Lorkhan. While Talos may have taken over Lorkhan's portfolio, and even been a representation of Lorkhans humanistic streak, Talos has defined himself as an individual entity. Regardless, this is getting way off track. To summarize, Talos is a god, the Thalmor are evil. Edited January 16, 2012 by Lachdonin

If you think this is bad go to the Bethesda ES lore forums, all they do is talk Kirkbirdian all day. All the talk of Reman building spaceships, and the Altmeri sunbrids, and Chimeri vehkships, and C0DA. ThomasBlaine
From a RP perspective, if you're anything but a Nord, I'd go with the Legion. You were arrested in the first place for standing too close to a Stormcloak, when fleeing the dragon you'd have to be stupid to openly escape with them. Better stay under Imperial protection and/or in their good graces so they don't just decide that you probably deserved to die anyway and arrest you again. If your character has no personal stake in the Grey vs. Grey war then s/he should be pragmatic or ignore it entirely. And if you really want to put a lot of thought into it, think about it politically. What would Skyrim's independence from the Empire mean for your character, your race and your homeland? 893kira
Stormcloacks fight for the people of Skyrim..The Legion fight for power.. So i would say join The Order of the Virtuous Blood any day! Are you kidding me i don't know if you played other races but the Stormcloaks are bunch of extremist racist compared to the empire. Yes the empire abuse there power but with the threat of dominion it seems understandable. If you want revenge for arresting you from the beginning of the game you have a sinister best revenge of all time killing the emperor as the Dark Brotherhood. Feels awesome killing the emperor but wish Bethseda will give us some option that you could lie about executing the emperor and the dark brotherhood would work for legion temporary. Seriously the reward is freaking 20000 gold for killing the emperor. Its totally small because you have also killed a lot of figureheads in the empire and even the mysterious chief. Seriously at the beginning of the game i wanted to join the stormcloaks for revenge but there cause is much more racist having learning how they treat different races and even the fornsworn history if you do that quest. modder3434
Think about it from your characters perspective. Say... - your thief and assassin character go for the empire csense it has gotten a little corrupt.- your crusader character says out of it because he/she only cares about the people.- your mage character stays out of it cause their only focus is more arcane power.- your nord character wants to fight for his homeland.- your warrior character sees the thalmor as the real enemy and believes in the empire staying united. however you want to play it and for whatever reason is for you to decide. the quests themselves are slightly different but mostly similar no matter who you fight for
Malakai88
It depends on my char, I dont do strict roleplay or anything, but I do give the character a personality and tune my game choices to that. My 2h char is imperial, she believes in law and order and a strong state as deterrent to the altmer. Even tho shes a nord she knows the pathetic stormcloaks cannot realistically repel the aldmeri dominion!
JDHolmes
Personally, I'd say Rebellion because, well, the Legion tried to hack your head off for no reason in the first scene. I have a hard time joining a group that tried to kill me first off. But that's just me. I was pretty unimpresses with joining the Rebellion too...
