Deleted31005User
As the title says, I'm getting pretty fed up with users asking the same question over and over and over again "Can you please port your mod".Its really come to the point where this is feeling like SPAM now, those kind of users keep asking it in the comment section and in my PM box, I know they don't do this with any bad intentions but its quite annoying to say the least.I don't mind it if people contact me when they intend to port the mod themselves or ask for specific permission for this porting, but everyone else that is contacting me are just normal users who have zero experience in modding and they always ask the same question to which I always have to give the same answer (or I just delete the message).Users should just leave modders alone regarding porting mods already, and this website (Dark0ne) should realize that modders getting annoyed with this kind of SPAM is not going to help you in the long run either. God...I'm starting to dislike Skyrim Special Edition and I havn't even played it yet. Edited January 21, 2017 by Guest
Crimsomrider
I'm guessing you made everyone aware to not ask you those questions by making a sticky post in the posts section ? It will drastically reduce the number of people that want to ask this question. As for the PMs, nothing you can do about that. In my case, the majority of people know by now that I don't do requests and I just don't respond to comments that have requests in them, but people still send me PMs asking if I can do this or that. Just a few days ago I received 3 requests in just 30 minutes. You can't really stop that because some people are new to modding and they are not aware of what's going on. I just reply "I don't do requests" and that's it. Simple and direct. If you are truly bothered by it, simply turn off your messenger so that people can only reach you through the posts section on a mod. Then place a sticky that you don't want those questions and you won't get them... more or less. I don't see how Dark0ne can do anything to stop every single user from asking a simple question. That would be censorship and filtering, which is something I extremely dislike on Bethesda.net. So... turn off messenger, place a sticky post = gg. Deleted31005User
Yes I placed a sticky comment like that a few days ago, I really hope that is going to help. But still, my comment section is full of stuff about porting the mods where I discuss it with different people already, but despite that some users still don't even seem to read any of that but strait up send me PMs or even leave comments on my youtube vids instead, its ridiculous and all I can do is delete them I guess. And yes you are right that most users don't know whats going on, but that's their own fault because if they would only read for a few minutes in my comment section they would be aware, but they don't do that and instead just treat mod authors as some kind of help-desk and deposit their question there. I'm all for helping people with actual questions regarding my mods, but this porting silliness is getting out of hand. And no, turning off my messenger is not an option for various reasons. Maybe I need to grow a thicker skin against those kinds of messages, but I swear before Skyrim Special Edition I never had any issues with comments/PMs like this and I loved to talk to people, now its going in the opposite direction because 90% of the stuff I'm getting is always about porting. Ethreon
Delete all comments you do not want to see. I don't think there's any rule extension that can be applied here, though if there are users that push you repeatedly you can probably report them for spam or harassment or something of that nature. Otherwise.. annoying might be, but can't stop them.
Crimsomrider
Welcome to the new age of modding. Bethesda is partially to blame because they used MODS as a marketing flagship for Fallout 4 and Skyrim, so many console users have the wrong opinion of mod authors. They think we make mods exclusively for everyone except ourselves, when it's pretty much the other way around. And I 110% know how you feel. Some people just don't read, but then again... maybe some of them don't know how to read.
