theLeeHarvey
It's too bad we have to resort to punishment. I still think using the rating system with brutal honesty could help. People generally don't realize that they are making a mistake until someone tells them or it's too late. Unless of course they are doing it intentionally. That's where some form of discipline is required. But whatever. Maybe there should be a banner on the Image Upload page that announces, "TAG YOUR PICTURES APPROPRIATELY OR THEY WILL BE REMOVED", or something to that affect along with LHammonds suggested new tags. I'm just sick of having to sift through the mountains of crap pics just to see something interesting. ChewieBacca
Adult content isnt bad but there is way to much of the same thing repeatedly. Tagging needs to be enforced, more than anything.

Sarya
LHammonds, kidding? And she's half-naked again and with such unreasonably big breasts too. Boring :) By the way, I don't think enforcing tags and punishing for ignoring them is suitable. This resource is too much international, many people simply may not understand what that tag means. theLeeHarvey, there may be a compromissing decision for this. There may be a sect created which members rate every picture which is not in that "crap category". With the exception of adult pictures, as far not everybody would even look at them. Though most of them are crap anyway, like "See my naked female character(s)/companion(s) in/on/etc. <insert location>" or "See my male character f****** <insert race> girl(s) in/on/etc. <insert location>" :)
LoginToDownload
What about, if LHammonds' plan goes through, a sect that just focuses on tagging pictures that should be in the "crap category" to put them under those tags?

Having a set of tags would be the 1st step. Going through and tagging images would be an on-going process and would only succeed if the community is diligent in tagging. I'd much rather see a list of tags that allow you to "include" images you wish to see rather than having tags specifically for the purpose of excluding. Examples of exclusion tags would be "junk", "trash", "unoriginal", "bland", etc. They are all negative and set an atmosphere that can be somewhat abusive. Again, I think we need to come up with a list of tags that everyone wants to search for from an "inclusive" point of view.Want images concerning WIP mods? Maybe we need a WIPz mod and RELz mod tags.Want images that are hilarious? Maybe we need a Comedy tag.Want images that are artistic? Odd? Wallpaper-worthy? Anime? etc. LHammonds
LoginToDownload
By "Crap", I actually did just mean the sexual poses stuff and the appropriate tags for them... Not literally negative tags. And I think we already have a comedy category for images.

Also I'm sure that many do not like the idea of a small group of people determining what is right and wrong (that is the problem with government). It should be left up to the individual. Since it is mandatory to rate adult subject matter as such upon upload it stands to reason that we can use that to our advantage. Whenever a adult image is uploaded it would automatically be placed in it's own location. Since the majority of the users that enjoy that content probably don't desire such distinction and the ones uploading it for undetermined reasons don't seem to be swayable* to our way of thinking then it would lighten the task of enlightening those that are swayable* by simply removing the adult content from the equation. With that out of the way (as it seems that is the crux of complaint on this subject being the majority of image content) the task of rating what's left will be dramatically more an inviting. *word I just made up
theLeeHarvey
I'll volunteer to tag/rate screens appropriately. I mean seriously and fairly, trying to keep in mind, 'How would this comment/rating make me feel if it was my picture'. At the same time though, we can't be too soft either. Before anybody can begin, we'll need to come to a conclusion on what we are going to rate/tag. All of the Pictures? Just the good ones? Just the bad ones? I don't want to be the only one doing it either. Just the sheer amount of screenshots we have in our image share section makes that a daunting task and we get more and more of them constantly, so keeping up will be a challenge. Not to mention the hate-mail I'm likely to recieve from the over-sensitive types. I believe we've already seen that the matter of tagging images probably can't be left in the hands of the uploaders since most people seem to ignore the tagging process anyway. And LHammonds, that was just cruel.
LHammonds
And LHammonds, that was just cruel. :wink:hehehe. Ya, I'm pretty evil. :P I'm still waiting to see somebody spearhead a list of tags that most people would like to use in order to find what they want to search on. I'm not much of an "image share" user so if things were left up to me, you'd just end up with an identical set of tags as the file database. :D And yes, it can take a LONG time to go through all the images. When the adult tag feature was implemented, I took it upon myself to go through each and every image and mark the obvious images with that tag that have already been uploaded. There was about 350 pages back then. That was a most tedious task and just using the thumbnails as a gauge was my only hope of ever finishing them all and I know I didn't catch all of them. But I am usually happy with the 80/20 rule. I felt as though I got more than 80% of the adult-only pictures and would let the rest be reported.
