Skyrim Save Corruption (but not?)

My issue is while playing my save will randomly corrupt mid play through, still allow me to save, but if I die (force reload) or try to manual load a earlier save it shows that it is corrupted. However, if I close the game and reopen it, the saves are no longer corrupted allowing me to load it and play it, but then once again corrupts mid play through about 5-10 mins in. Why is this, does anyone have any insight for me to possibly fix it?

You seem to have some non-Nexus mods in there. I'm automatically suspicious of those. Try disabling them (and any patches/dependencies that they rely on) in your plug-in tab in NMM and load a save. You'll get a warning about missing content, just ignore it and play for awhile. Did it not corrupt this time? Then you know that one or more of those mods is the issue. At least that will narrow the problem down for you to troubleshoot.

 

If the game still corrupts your save, you've got deeper issues in there. I'm thinking script engine overloads. But I don't have experience with those, to be honest.

 

I know this won't help you now, but if nothing else works, the silverlock team is working on the new SKSE for SE. When it becomes available, that, along with the unofficial patch, will probably help.

Which ones are the non-nexus ones? I don't remember ever downloading any that weren't either from SE Nexus or regular Skyrim Nexus(these I optimized before applying them, most of which were small things like font change and such)

Oops, I got "SexLab - Amorous Adventures" confused with "Lover's Lab". My bad.

 

I'm only familiar with about 60% of those mods, so I'm not sure which, if any, are non-Nexus. If you're certain none of them are then it's time for basic troubleshooting.

 

Have you LOOTed your mod order?

 

Have you cleaned with TES5Edit?

 

If so, or neither of those work, time to see if you can play without corrupting without mods. Go to your plug-in tab in NMM. Uncheck everything except the game, DLCs and the unofficial patch. Load a save and see what happens. Still corrupting? If not, one or more of those mods is the issue. Try re-enabling 10 mods (and any patches/dependencies) at a time until the issue returns. Now you'll have it narrowed to just those mods. Tedious, I know.

 

Did it still corrupt anyway? Try again, only this time with a new game. If no corruption this time, then your save(s) ARE corrupted after all.

 

If your game still corrupts saves on a new game with nothing but the game, DLCs and unofficial patch enabled, then it might be time to nuke from orbit and re-install the game itself. Try clearing your game cache first.
