Sniperwhere
Hey You - Pink Floyd Hey you ! out there in the coldGetting lonely, getting old, can you feel meHey you ! Standing in the aislesWith itchy feet and fading smiles, can you feel meHey you ! don't help them to bury the lightDon't give in without a fight.Hey you ! out there on your ownsitting naked by the phone would you touch meHey you ! with your ear against the wallWaiting for someone to call out would you touch meHey you ! would you help me to carry the stoneOpen your heart, I'm coming homeBut it was only a fantasyThe wall was too high as you can seeNo matter how he tried he could not break freeAnd the worms ate into his brain.Hey you ! out there on the roadAlways doing what you're told, can you help meHey you ! out there beyond the wallBreaking bottles in the hall, can you help meHey you ! don't tell me there's no hope at allTogether we stand, divided we fall. VictoriaG
Pink Floyd - Echoes Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the airAnd deep beneath the rolling waves in labyrinths of coral cavesThe echo of a distant tideComes willowing across the sandAnd everything is green and submarineAnd no one showed us to the landAnd no one knows the wheres or whysBut something stirs andSomething triesAnd starts to climb towards the lightStrangers passing in the streetBy chance two separate glances meetAnd I am you and what I see is meAnd do I take you by the handAnd lead you through the landAnd help me understand the best I canAnd no one calls us to move onAnd no one forces down our eyesAnd no one speaksAnd no one triesAnd no one flies around the sunCloudless every day you fallUpon my waking eyesInviting and inciting me to riseAnd through the window in the wallComes streamin in on sunlight wingsA million bright ambassadors of morningAnd no one sings me lullabiesAnd no one makes me close my eyesSo I throw the windows wideAnd call to you across the sky. Pink Floyd - Dogs You gotta be crazy, you gotta have a real needYou gotta sleep on your toes, and when you're on the streetYou gotta be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closedAnd then moving in silently, down wind and out of sightYou gotta strike when the moment is right without thinking. And after a while, you can work on points for styleLike the club tie, and the firm handshakeA certain look in the eye, and an easy smileYou have to be trusted by the people that you lie toSo that when they turn their backs on youYou'll get the chance to put the knife in.You gotta keep one eye looking over your shoulderYou know it's going to get harder, and harder, and harder as you get olderAnd in the end you'll pack up, fly down southHide your head in the sandJust another sad old manAll alone and dying of cancer. And when you loose control, you'll reap the harvest you have sownAnd as the fear grows, the bad blood slows and turns to stoneAnd it's too late to loose the weight you used to need to throw aroundSo have a good drown, as you go down, all aloneDragged down by the stone.I gotta admit that I'm a little bit confusedSometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being usedGotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaiseIf I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?Deaf, dumb, and blind, you just keep on pretendingThat everyone's expendable and no-one has a real friendAnd it seems to you the thing to do would be to isolate the winnerAnd everythings done under the sunAnd you believe at heart, everyone's a killer.Who was born in a house full of painWho was trained not to spit in the fanWho was told what to do by the manWho was broken by trained personnelWho was fitted with collar and chainWho was given a pat on the backWho was breaking away from the packWho was only a stranger at homeWho was ground down in the endWho was found dead on the phoneWho was dragged down by the stone. Evanescence - Tourniquet I tried to kill the painBut only brought more(So much more) I lay dying and I'm pouringCrimson regretAnd betrayal I'm dying, prayingBleeding, I'm screaming"Am I too lost to be saved?Am I too lost?" My God, my tourniquetReturn to me salvationMy God, my tourniquetReturn to me salvation Do you remember me?Lost for so longWill you be on the other side?Or will you forget me? I'm dying, prayingBleeding and screaming"Am I too lost to be saved?Am I too lost?" My God, my tourniquetReturn to me salvationMy God, my tourniquetReturn to me salvation Return to me salvationI long to die My God, my tourniquetReturn to me salvationMy God, my tourniquetReturn to me salvation My wounds cry for the graveMy soul cries for deliveranceWill I be denied Christ?(Christ)Tourniquet, my suicide
Blacksnake89
Is anyone else loving ? I feel so unsureas I take your hand and lead you to the dance flooras the music dies, something in your eyescalls to mind the silver screenand all its sad good-byes I'm never gonna dance againthese guilty feet have got no rhythmthough it's easy to pretendI know you're not a fool I should've known better than to cheat a friendand waste the chance that I've been givenso I'm never gonna dance againthe way I danced with you Time can never mendthe careless whispers of a good friendto the heart and mindignorance is kindthere's no comfort in the truthpain is all you'll find I'm never gonna dance againthese guilty feet have got no rhythmthough it's easy to pretendI know you're not a fool I should've known better than to cheat a friendand waste this chance that I've been givenso I'm never gonna dance againthe way I danced with you Tonight the music seems so loudI wish that we could lose this crowdMaybe it's better this wayWe'd hurt each other with the things we'd want to say We could have been so good togetherWe could have lived this dance foreverBut no who's gonna dance with mePlease stay And I'm never gonna dance againthese guilty feet have got no rhythmthough it's easy to pretendI know you're not a fool Should've known better than to cheat a friendand waste the chance that I've been givenso I'm never gonna dance againthe way I danced with you Never knew what that song was about until Seether covered it. Best cover so far this year by a wide margin.Unfortunately no not me. I love Seether and the song's lyrics are great but the tempo of the song kinda turns me off to it. I really like their song Rise above this though. With my personal encounters with suicide (friends not me) I'm probably a little bias towards it though.I'm too tired to go around looking for the song's lyrics but here's the vid. worm82075
Unfortunately no not me. This cover of their's actually attracted me to them and I'm finding that i like everything I've heard so far. They have good rhythm, and the instrumental talent is there as well as emotional range (my three favorite singers are Lane Staley, Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell) but before i can say for sure I have to see them perform live. I'm a pretty busy guy so if you could give me a heads up if they come by Atlanta way I'd appreciate it. Testimony to how good they are: they made me like a song that I always hated so that says a lot about them. The latest song to captivate me (though not lyrically) is The White Stripes' 7 Nation Army, (I love the bass guitar, heavy lines here) and the video is pretty trippy(as are all their vids). I'm Gonna fight 'em OffA Seven Nation Army couldn't hold me backThey're Gonna Rip it offTaking there Time right behind my back-And I'm Talkin' to myself at nightbecause I can't forgetBack and forth through my mindbehind a cigarette And the message coming from my eyesays leave it alone-------Don't want to hear about itEvery single one's got a story to tellEveryone Knows about itFrom the Queen of England To the Hounds of Hell-And if I catch ya commin back my wayI'm gonna Sell it to youAnd that ain't what you want to hearbut that's what I'll do-And the feelin' commin from my bonessays find a home-------I'm goin' to WitchitaFar from this opera for evermoreI'm gonna work the strawMake the sweat drip out of every pore-And I'm Bleedin, and I'm Bleedin, and I'm Bleedin,Right before the LordAll the words are gonna bleed from meand I will sing no more-And the stings commin from my bloodtell me go back home The lyrics actually make sense to me and I associate them with my own life experiences ( as i do most all music) and to me it's about cutting all ties with anyone that can bring you down by rubbing off their own addictions and weaknesses on you. For WS though I think he's talking about the music industry and Hollywwod.
rakkar
I think this song is very good both in music and in lyrics: SKY FLASHINGS BY EARTHSUIT Who keeps the balance in suspended skiesSupporting Earth with inward thrustLet the audience refocus eyesOn all sky flashings in front of usWho's seen in the midst of unsealing skiesIt's revelation that all can seeAnd yet our hearts remain hushed insideMindless of fantasia we enjoy for free It takes a miracle, kaleidoscope superiorSpinning vortex, bleeding shades of night to day Sovereign pictures center stageGenius of the cosmic crazeDays and nights keep on and onGod abroad in blended song In our sky flashings Who can deny this pure designEmanating views never seenRevealing art to mortal mindsEntranced in our phantasmic dreams
