The kit allows for near infinite possibilities with mods. Animators can now use their animation, modelers can now get their models in game without fuss, textures can uv map models to apply their new textures and game scripters can actually have fun and get to work as they haven't really been able to without the kit  . We can also stop seeing those silly daily mods which someone has only used a colour slider to change the texture than maybe added some line of speech from a tv show or another game.

That's all already being done. "Without fuss", though? Less fuss in many ways, but such work is never without fuss. It's not a holy grail. The developers used a better version yet still had problems making the game perfect in everyone's eyes.

What are you talking about with lines of speech. The CK won't add new voice acting.

And won't you see more "silly daily mods" after the CK?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for it. Bonus! I've just never been into a game with a CK release and am used to mods without. Oh, wait, there was Hal-Life 2 for me, but I never got into the offshoots from their CK.

It isn't being done with little fuss. People have to use a lot of older tools just to do something that could be done in a few minutes in the kit. In Oblivion you would see cool armor mods added nearly every day, and there are probably less than 15 stand alone pieces or armor for Skyrim out of the 5000 or so mods. With the kit after a few clicks and file paths to set you are ready to generate an esp. I don't believe there are proper nifscripts yet either for editing meshes in nifskope. Without the proper use of nifskope setting a new texture with a different UV layout than vanilla's is much harder to do. Almost no mods are script base either, and the ones that are use SKSE instead of what skyrim can already do. With the kit these could all be done in the CK and use an esp. Maybe there wont be less silly mods, but there will be 'full' mods which stand out a lot more than an animal mesh stretched over a different animals skeleton. mazakala hit the nail on the head about the audio mods  (Though the dragon one is the only one I found funny)

I suppose you could misread what I said that way easily. But that's not all what I meant. Try again.

You've clearly never modded.

Is it really still called modding when using a CK?

Cute.

It really is, and how arrogant and ignorant your post makes you look. Of course it's considered modding, the Creation Kit is the software the devs used to make the game, and it allows near unlimited alteration and modification to aspects of the game. It's far more effective modding.

Arrogant, yes. You'd probably call what the developers do "modding". Want to be loose, just call installing someone's mod also modding.

But, ignorant? You didn't follow that with anything I didn't already know.

There are some semantic difficulties with the words "modding" and "modder." Many people consider the word "modder" to mean "mod-builder." An amateur programmer sort of person who uses software like the CS, Blender, NifSkope, GIMP and a bunch of other programs to add new content to the game or else make changes to the game. This new or changed content is then packaged so that any gamer can install it without any skill at building new content or using these software programs.

Some people use the word "modder" to describe anyone who installs and plays mods that they download. I would describe these people as "gamers" rather than "modders," but what do I know?

It's more like the difference between a runner and everyone who runs. We all have our own idea of what qualifies. No biggie. I just thought it was, well, cute.

A [game] modification: Anything that makes changes and/or adds content of any kind to a game.

A modder: A person who makes [game] modifications.

What's not clear about that?

It's not really worth a debate. If I swam today, am I a swimmer? Pro swimmers might not agree. There is no clear answer by just looking in a dictionary. It's about how a culture uses words and sub-cultures and so on. I'm not saying it isn't modding. However, I'd never call it such.

More possibilities with mods, major bug fixes that need to be addressed and the CK will make modding easier to get into.

Patches are for bug fixes.

This clearly must be your first Elder Scrolls game or you're just trolling hard. Official patches from Bethesda barely clean up the amount of bugs that plague their games. The unofficial community patches provide more bug fixes than all of the official patches combined. I honestly don't see Bethesda even getting close to fixing half of the massive bug list that Skyrim has.

Frost trolling... Oddly, my game hasn't been buggy.

I thought that too, up till it took me 4 attempts to get certain quest stages to trigger, for SEVERAL different quests. The games great, but it has flaws. The odd thing about some of the glitches - they don't show up every time. My first... l dunno, 3 or so characters seemed perfectly fine, quests went excellently etc. But then came my poor mage, destined to hate the blood on the ice quest. For some reason, the script to have Calixto attack @ night took place mid-day, and no one around the poor woman even took notice of her death. /moment of silence

My point is, it's not buggy for you, which is awesome. Can l have your versionof the game please?

but it is buggy for others. Very buggy.
