j0nk
Hey,after quite a while I want to once again sink endless hours into Skyrim and, of course, mod the s*** out of it. I don't want to go super crazy with it but I'm thinking of adding as many graphical enhancements as my PC can handle, plus some additional content here and there, as well as a bunch of quality of life improvements. Should I return to the Vanilla Edition with its huge library of mods or is everything essential already available for the SE, and I should just go for that because of the better technology in that version? Thanks for your help,-j. LeddBate
SE has gotten a lot of mods ported over, but many of them that relied on SkyUI in "Oldrim" (what we've nicknamed vanilla) use workarounds and many don't have all their normal functions (MCM menus, for example.) The good news is that the silverlock team IS re-coding SKSE for SE. And they're assisting the SkyUI team in re-coding that as well. However, until SKSE and SkyUI finish being ported, I would recommend sticking with Oldrim (with a good mod list.)
OutLaw666
If you aren't intending to go super crazy with mods like you said then you should use SSE right now.If you want to go super crazy you should wait till SKSE and skyui are coming out. From my experience SSE is a lot more stable and much faster. I'm about 60 hours into the game, running 100+ mods and hadn't had a single crash so far (which really amazed me!). This game is bulletproof!
Moksha8088
The part about the game not needing all sorts of memory fixes is a good selling point. Stability should be the clincher, unless you are of the Pepsi Generation, in which case the words immersive, lore friendly, and slooty could be added.
